Google has upped the ante with regards to beating malware, by letting searchers know if the site they are looking for is responsible for giving users malicious software.

Google are working with the Stop Badware Coalition to decide which sites need to be flagged up. Whenever people click on a dodgy link Google will whisk the user off to a warning web page, informing you of the dangers that lie ahead.

The options Google will then offer you are: try another search, select a different result from your search or if you fancy testing your computers security system, proceed ahead. Google has said that in the future they will make these warning page far more specific, letting users know what specific threats they may encounter.

The effort is aimed at stopping the increasing spread of malicious software to people's computers. With the Stop Badware movement being run by a Harvard Professor and last weeks spam filter study taking place in a university it would seem that the academics are on the trail of all the bad things on the internet. Surely that can only be a good thing.

Is this a positive move by Google to protect us? Or are they getting too involved in our searches? Let us know your views in the forums.

Bush said they hate our FREEDOM. Let's have some, shall we? Enough of the nanny state.

I've been meaning to mention this, that for the past week or two, I have been getting a security warning that pops up with every window at freedom4um! Is anyone else having this problem?

Do you want to install and run "Adobe Flash Player 9" signed on 6/22/06 5:05 PM and distributed by

Of course, my server is Prodigy, and has been since I got my computer about 9 years ago. I just found out about a month ago, that it had been taken over by ATT, fascist tipsters to CorpUSA and partners with AshkeNazi Germany. The computer is not compatible with high speed.

Time for a new computer! They're getting cheaper and faster all the time.

LOL!

Thanks. I HAD one, but right after my daughter crashed hers [which was a new and faster version of the one I had] with all her graphics and such, she proceeded to "borrow" mine, and she crashed that one too. They both got new computers [they really did need them], and I'm back to this one. The sheeple thinks I spend too much time on here anway, so am waiting for daughter #1 to install new mother board on [her] crashd one.
