A plot to blow up planes in flight from the UK to the US and commit "mass murder on an unimaginable scale" has been disrupted, Scotland Yard has said. It is thought the plan was to detonate explosive devices smuggled in hand luggage on to as many as 10 aircraft.

Saftest bet to and from Europe is fly Icelandic airlines. Cheaper, better service and odds are in your favore that you will arrive alive.

Actually, I said that from years of working at Kennedy.

Many of us working for the government back many years ago had an excellent opinion of Icelandic. Excellent maintenance, good service and not attuned to herd mentality of a cattle drive.

Last I knew they still were flying humans, not cattle. Tell Mom and Dad they made an excellent choice, for MANY reasons.

Hint, never fly Iberia, Alitalia and such. Never.

I did however have a friend long ago whose pilots licence was signed by one of the Wright brothers.
