Popular Mechanics began researching the facts behind 9/11 conspiracy theories in late 2004 and published a cover story on the topic in March 2005.
How convenient that Popular Mechanics once again neglects to mention that the author of that propaganda piece being passed off as "research" was none other than the Ben Chertoff, cousin of the DHS director. A conflict of interest never acknowledged by the government-owned editorial staff. Then Benny lied and said he did not know if he was related to Michael Chertoff after he was called on it.

I busted a poster on another site trying to pass this crap off as factual information - and not providing a link to the source. I thought it looked familiar so I searched a phrase and up popped the PM article. After I called the idiot on it, three or four more posters jumped on it and the disinfo agent disappeared never to be heard from again. ;0)

Blaming some conspiracy within our government for the horrific attacks of September 11 mars the memories of all those lost on that day. There were errors and missteps in our government's response, to be sure, but the performance of our public servants was on the whole heroic, not destructive. For their service--for their lives--we are indebted, and we are obliged to pay our debts to those who sacrificed. To blame not a gang of terrorists but some conspiracy for September 11 insults the police officers and firefighters who raced into the burning towers; the men and women who left for dangerous, distant lands to fight our enemies; and those who have fought in all the wars of our history.
Of course 911 WAS the result of a conspiracy, and it WAS done by terrorists, and everyone agrees on that. The question is the identities and nationalities of those conspirators/terrorists. 911 is proof that some group of people somewhere have gross disregard for human life. Why and how is it an insult to those who died to question who it was?
I'm not decided on that myself as I've not studied up on the matter. But WTC 7 is very suspicious to me and should be to anyone. I wonder if PM addresses that.

Loose Change may not be the best documentary to make an argument about the truth for 9/11, but at least it tries to make a convincing one.
