Has anyone heard of this new documentary on 9-11 and the Kean Commission? It is a new documentary fron Kevin Costner and Hillary Swank. The promotional ad seemed to be critical of the 911 Commission. It is on tonight at 10 pm on the Court TV channel. I doubt that they will get into controlled demolitions and the hundreds of witnesses to the series of bombs going off in the WTC both before and after the planes struck the North and South Towers.

By the way, has anyone seen the movie World Trade Center? Are there bombs going off in the towers as the promo ad said? Is it worth seeing?

umm, i saw a preview on UK television that had an interesting bit where the people are in the basement and they look up as they hear a series of explosions going off above them.

it made me wonder if Mr Stone was trying to tell people something...

Editorial Reviews From Publishers Weekly A re-creation of the inner workings of a government commission threatens to be a dry bureaucratic procedural, but the 9/11 Commission was so politically fraught that its story is compelling in its own right. Chairman Kean and vice-chair Hamilton detail the commission's fight with Congress for more money and time; its wranglings with the Bush administration to win access to witnesses and classified documents; its delicate relations with victims' families, who were its harshest critics and staunchest champions; its strategic use of public censure to wring concessions from recalcitrant officials; and the forging of a bipartisan consensus among fractious Republican and Democratic commissioners. Their tone is evenhanded and diplomatic, but some adversaries—NORAD, the FAA, House Republicans—get singled out as stumbling blocks to the investigation. The authors cogently defend the compromises they made and swat conspiracy theories about coverups, but critics unhappy with the commission's refusal to "point fingers" or its lukewarm resistance to White House claims of executive privilege may not be satisfied. The issues the commission wrestled with—official incapacity to prevent disaster, the government's use and misuse of intelligence, presidential accountability—are still in the headlines, which makes this lucid, absorbing account of its work very timely

The show is about the above book written by the 9-11 commissioners. Only in America can political hacks whitewash the largest murder mystery in America, then cash in with a book (soon to be a movie, no doubt). As I've said before, American capitalism has begun to reek.

"If there’s another 9/11 or a major war in the Middle-East involving a U.S. attack on Iran, I have no doubt that there will be, the day after or within days an equivalent of a Reichstag fire decree that will involve massive detentions in this country."

The message from "On Native Soil," was to call your members of Congress and get them to implement the recommendations of the 9/11 Commission: more consolidation of power in Washington at the cost of states' rights and individual rights. The documentary was followed by at least three commercials showing young people who stupidly want to join the army. Thus, without federal advertising dollars, Court TV would be in the tank.

It's ironic that all these documentaries supporting the 9/11 Commission's findings are being shown at a time when the 9/11 Commission is rushing to cover their arses.
