GOP candidate says 9/11 attacks were a hoax

by Albert McKeon http://nashuatelegraph.com

A Republican candidate for this area’s congressional seat said Wednesday that the U.S. government was complicit in the Sept. 11, 2001, terrorist attacks.

In an editorial board interview with The Telegraph on Wednesday, the candidate, Mary Maxwell, said the U.S. government had a role in killing nearly 3,000 people at the World Trade Center and Pentagon, so it could make Americans hate Arabs and allow the military to bomb Muslim nations such as Iraq.Maxwell, 59, seeks the 2nd District congressional seat. The Concord resident opposes the incumbent, Charles Bass of Peterborough, and Berlin Mayor Bob Danderson in the Republican primary Sept. 12.

Maxwell would not specify if she holds the opinion that the government stood by while terrorists hijacked four domestic airliners and used them as weapons, or if it had a larger role by sanctioning and carrying out the attacks.

But she implicated the government by saying the Sept. 11 attacks were meant “to soften us up . . . to make us more willing to have more stringent laws here, which are totally against the Bill of Rights . . . to make us particularly focus on Arabs and Muslims . . . and those strange persons who spend all their time creating little bombs,” giving Americans a reason “to hate them and fear them and, therefore, bomb them in Iraq for other reasons.”

She said this strategy “would be normal” for governments, citing her belief that the British government – and not the Germany military – sank the Lusitania ocean liner in 1915. The deaths of Americans on the cruise liner helped galvanize U.S. support to enter World War I, and benefited England, she said.

In turn, the Sept. 11 attacks “made the ground fertile” for more stringent laws, such as the Patriot Act, and the creation of the Department of Homeland Security, Maxwell said.

Near the end of the interview, Maxwell pounded her fist on the table and asked editors of The Telegraph why they weren’t publishing more stories about the government’s role in the terrorist attacks or proliferation of nuclear weapons.

Maxwell has no political experience. She lived abroad for the past quarter-century with her husband, George, a pediatrician, and only recently returned to the U.S., she said.

In the hour-long interview, Maxwell spoke at length about Constitutional law, U.S. law, nuclear weapons proliferation, and other domestic and foreign policy issues.

Maxwell said the U.S. should withdraw from Iraq. She also questioned whether Congress authorized the war and said its members can’t explain that 2002 vote. (Congress authorized the use of force to defend this country’s security and enforce United Nations resolutions on Iraq.)

“Legally, we shouldn’t have gone to Iraq if Congress can’t explain why,” she said.

Maxwell described herself as a strict Constitutionalist, a candidate who wants to bring the country “back to basics.” The Constitution grants more power to the legislative branch than the other two branches, but Congress has allowed the executive and judicial branches to diminish its influence, she said.

She also said the U.S. shouldn’t immerse itself in the international community by signing trade and security pacts. These agreements have weakened national sovereignty, she said.

I don't think she will get an invitation to the White House despite the fact that she is a Republican.

She has been living overseas so she did not have the benefit of being brainwashed by the U.S. media which is a major consideration when I go to the polls.

A Mossad plant I would dare say, not a honest American candidate for office.

Woah! Hold the horses! She actually is a member of Liberty Post! But she did not post the Farewell Cheney article on liberty post.

Here am I, your humble candidate. Did you mean RINO, as in Republican in Name Only? If so pls tell me the areas in which I do not meet your definition of Republican.

I looked up the word 'moonbat' and learned that it indicates someone who "is at the extreme edge of whatever their ism is" I think I am at the core of small-r republicanism. I disagree with you that "No real GOP-er will vote for her."

Are you a real GOP-er? Name me some real ones so I can see what you're getting at.

Pls see my website at http://maxwellforcongress.com Tanks.

Why would a serious candidate do such a thing? LP is an Israel first site; she makes NO mention of Israel's undeniable roll in 9/11. Sorry, something smells very fishy here.

I don't see the BFD.

Israel is a BFD. They are parasites that helped start WW1, WW2, and now are trying to start WW3. Their roll in 9/11 is undeniable by anyone that looks at the facts. No Israeli died in the towers that day despite the fact that many worked there. They were warned not to go to work that day. Five Mossad agents were seen filming the towers being hit and high fiving each other and cheering. They were stopped by the police and the driver said: "We are Israeli. We are not your problem. Your problems are our problems. The Palestinians are the problem."

The detained Israelis discussed their experience in America on an Israeli talk show after their return home. One of the men said: "The fact of the matter is we are coming from a country that experiences terror daily. Our purpose was to document the event."

In their van box cutters were found and the dogs indicated they smelled the presence of explosives. Yeah, let's just give that shitty little country with the most to gain from 9/11 a pass, NBFD.

I thought we had the log of the German U-boat commander who sank the Lusitania.

Incumbents are in such trouble with the voters this year that I suppose it's conceivable Ms. Maxwell could win the primary.

Yeah, I thought that statement by her was way out there too. Almost seems like she is trying to discredit the 9/11-truth movement. But we know no one would do that. Surely not someone that has not lived in the USA for the last 25 years and that doesn't mention Israel's roll in 9/11. No, she is as pure as the driven snow, that's why she even has a link to LP on her site.

The designer of her website doesn't understand what the 'shift' key is used for...must be a college graduate. I don't think she has a prayer of getting anywhere NEAR the RINO Bass in votes; although there is a LOT of anti-war sentiment in NH; especially around Keene and the Upper Valley. An open primary would sure make it interesting...

She may be a crank or a plant or just careless with words.

Anyone who puts the Constitution and Bill of rights front and center while kicking Cheney, Bush and irresponsible militarism is OK in my book as a candidate, absent any moral or criminal defect.

There are historians who question the motives of Britain allowing its carriers to carry passenger when said ships are legitimate targets of war. But to say that "that the British government – and not the Germany military – sank the Lusitania ocean liner in 1915" shows a certain recklessness with words and facts.

She'd be quite at home in D.C.

Maxwell sounds like an opportunist to me.

"If there’s another 9/11 or a major war in the Middle-East involving a U.S. attack on Iran, I have no doubt that there will be, the day after or within days an equivalent of a Reichstag fire decree that will involve massive detentions in this country."
