Title: Goldi-Lox banned aristeides

Goldi-Lox has banned aristeides.

I completely understood Goldi-Lox’s motivations for banning me. I frequently expressed the opinion on Libertypost that the Israeli lobby and Americans that place the interests of Israel above the interests of the United States are a threat to our nation and to our government as defined by the Constitution.

However, banning an individual like aristeides defies explanation. Aristeides has honorably served his country in uniform and believes strongly in America.

As an individual with an impressive educational background and professional expertise, he was able to post his insight and informed opinions on a variety of issues. He brings quality to a forum and that is what brings participants. You can watch CNN and FOX for 24 straight hours and not see one commentator or guest that matches the intellect or the gift for analysis that aristeides brings to the table.

Fortunately, there is a forum that provides a meeting ground for individuals that love this great country and the United States Constitution. I look forward to continuing to learn from aristeides' contributions.

A link would have been sufficient.

I think so too. I didn't see it's relevance either. Nor, at this point, do I see it on par with Arestides posting fate.

I wouldn't worry so much about 4Dumb. Once we get the hate laws through, that anti-Semitic hellhole will be shut down for good. It's about time some of these Americans start to get some understanding that this crap's not going to be tolerated much longer. Anybody caught badmouthing Israel is committing treachery and treason against the American government in a time of war, and that's the death penalty. When the Pres finally signs the capital punishment order for anti-Semitism, these haters aren't gonna know what hit 'em. posterboy posted on 2006-08-25 01:28:13 ET

We're mostly adults here

Adults that have some social manners and understanding.

I have heard all of such before and am neither impressed by or interested in reading such postings. Being most are adults, it is too much to ask for a little decorum?

I find it difficult to believe anyone here would allow such language in their home by total strangers. That being the case, perhaps I am in the wrong forum.

I know that morale is bad among our troops and stress is high. No matter how many awful stories that come out of Iraq, I know there are still many decent Americans trapped in those uniforms; all ages, both genders, trying to serve their county honorably.

The same could be said about Germans in WWII.

Behold the future of LP I think it's dangerous when someone is banned in a secret way. It reminds me of the way things are done by the Bush administration...eg state secrets precedents and signing statements etc.

Only transparency and accountability create trust.

PS - I don't care what people post. Let it rip, I say.

I agree that there are many decent men and women trapped in uniform doing a job that contradicts the mission they are actually supposed to be in uniform to accomplish; namely the defense and protection of the United States.

In Iraq, they are working as Mercenaries for the Neo-Con agenda.

My banning happened a day or two after Marguerite complained to Goldi-Lox about my ragging her, Marguerite, for using the nonword "tractations."

Do you suppose Marguerite is Goldi? Recall that Goldi was fond of making the sort of mindless, hate filled posts that Marguerite is famous for. Goldi's net wide famous Palestinian comments are an example. Goldi, as a forum owner, took an amazing amount of grief for letting her bitternesss, hate and bigotry bleed through into her posts - and she eventually shut up. Is the true Goldi now showing up in the guise of Marguerite?

Goldi is an American whose identity is well known to some people. Marguerite, on the other hand, makes obvious mistakes in English like "tractations," and explains the admitted fact that she has never listened to Limbaugh's show by the assertion that she lives in "Europe."

So I don't think Marguerite is Goldi. On the other hand, that leaves open the possibility that she sometimes plays Goldi on LP.

"I've Got a Lovely Bunch of Coconuts" is a well-known novelty song dating from the 1940s. It was composed in 1944 by Fred Heatherton, an English songwriter, and celebrates the traditional coconut shy of funfairs.

To make it look like someone else made a complaint against you, and that was reason enough to ban you. To appear as both accuser and judge might look unfair, and Goldi would need a trumped up charge to ban you. As I recall, the last time it was over using breaking news incorrectly. A mere technicality that everyone else was allowed, but not you.

Clearly, you were considered a threat to someone. Congratulations.

ragging her about the use of the nonword.

It was a word. Not a word I had ever seen but it was in most dictionaries I looked in. When you had not heard of it I knew it was either very old or very foreign. Perhaps it was your ragging after you were shown the word was legit (in some distant place perhaps) that you were targeted.

Her great example of 'civility' continually shows through and reflects exactly why she shouldn't own or moderate a website...unless it was named something like, "Jewish Daily Forum" where only she and her ilk could post.

FWIW, as I don't have a copy of the whole thread, I can't tell what it was about; I can only surmise that this "Burrito" person is for all forms of immigration--something I am totally against myself.

What followed her name-calling was typical--a matter of piling on by lots of people. The guy responded with some comment and said not to call him Burrito. So then Nacho was proffered as well as others.

You could expect this from 14 - 16 year olds.........she may well be that retarded, I don't know. But I do know she makes the rules and then she breaks the rules, and on the threads where she does this, it gives licenses for other posters to be first class azzholes....just like her.

As I recall, the last time it was over using breaking news incorrectly.

And I still think it was breaking news. It was author Jim Moore's report of his personal experience of discovering he was on the no-fly list. Goldi claimed that, because the report appeared on The Huffington Post, that meant it had to be classified as "Blog," which meant that it could not be Breaking News.

A word that has almost never been used in English since the very Latinate author Thomas Hobbes in the 17th century is in my opinion almost as much of a nonword in the English language as a word that hasn't been used since Chaucer.

The more I see of jazzfan's posts, the more I realize her interest in this site is to hurt it. She has an agenda and it has FR written all over it.

Give me a break.

It's the world WIDE web and there is room for many forums.

I happen to like Goldi and I came here at her request and many of the articles I posted were enjoyed by other posters. I debated the Kennedy assassination issue and many others with people here, some of whom I agreed with, many with whom I did not.

To think I came here to be part of some competition or pi**ing contest between FR and LP is nuts. And paranoid. And wrong.

If Neil has seen fit to ban someone with an obviously anti-semitic agenda I say good on him. It does not hurt the site one bit, but instead elevates the discourse IMO.

Looks like veronica/jazzfan started working on Goldie off site. Even when she is rebuffed, she continues to return to the same theme over and over and will not give up, even on a free speech board like Liberty Forum where she hasn't a chance in hell of changing their policy. You have to admire her persistance, if nothing else.

IIRC, 'tractate' is a word used in the Talmud, as a part of their division of their renderings of various aspects of the law.
