All is Vanity See other All is Vanity Articles Title: SOME THINGS ON MY MIND The past few days (actually somewhat longer than that), I've been mulling over the immigration mess and the upcoming elections, along with a few other problem areas in our nation. So, I thought I'd toss out a couple of concerns and see what your opinions are. A. First off, I doubt there is anyone who wants a change in party majorityship/minorityship than I. I want so badly for the gopers to get creamed for the POS job they've been doing after having been given the 'keys to the kingdom'! That said, consider this: The senate is less likely to change hands than the house, IMO. The senate recently passed a frickin amnesty/immigration nightmare of a bill. It is so far out of whack with the house passed version; therefore they have to go to conference. Technically, it is written in their rulebooks that confernce committees can't come up with new crap for the proposed bill, but they do it all the time. So, suppose the house changes over to the demos. What do you suspect will happen? From what I read, the demos are eager for such a bill as the senate passed...they apparently believe all the illegals will 'vote' for them. I guess I'm just still trying to figure out why one of my senators, craig, by name, stupid by characterization, would vote for this damnable bill. And most interestingly a) note that he is near the top ranks of goper leadership in the senate and b) he makes the asinine comment in his email response to my concerns and as a way to 'justify' his voting for it, essentially 'after all, we all know it won't pass as is because of the house version is so different'. B. Secondly--I along with many others dont' believe voting is anything beyond window dressing. And with that said, I'd like to ask: "So, if voting were in fact a real selection process and meaningful, how would you go about voting in the fall?" We have the war hawks.......and they're from both parties, so I don't see any changes there. We have the illegal alien lovers....and they're from both parties, though they are lying thru their teeth in backpedaling, etc. What third party candidate have the changes of making inroads==this, of course, predicated on their ability to jump thru all the hoops the two-headed monster party set up in election laws and regs? Face it, Ron Paul is just about the lone voice calling for sanity of 535 congresscowards. What would even a dozen third party candidates do for the process? I guarantee they would be given shit committee assignments. C. Thirdly--suppose there is a major shakeup come November, what do you believe the lame duck gopers would do? I would see them changing senate rules to where they kill the cloture vote rule, and then approve any and ever single appointment the liar in chief has put forth. I see them putting up the senate's version of the illegal alien/amnesty bill and passing it, so the liar in chief can sign it into law. I see a real probability of an attack on Iran, and the 'need' for the draft reinstatement.
