Since you asked, one of my dreams is to be in Mexico, Cuba, Ecuador, where ever, and take classical guitar lesson from the local master, and then spend the rest of the day sailing, hiking, and reading all the wonderful books I know of that help explain to me the condition of man.
If the simple life is all you want, it wouldn't take an obscene amount of money to get yourself situated down this way. Most people though (Americans at least) would hesitate to trade away cars, cable TVs & shopping malls for that.
