I don't either, but here's a link http://www.freespeedtest.com that you can use to try and figger out your computer's connection speed, and any website's speed.
PS: you don't have to enter any information - just go to the test.

I don't want to take a test on something I don't know. Lol! I don't even know what to train my computer for... this one is new and already out of shape... Sits on the desk all damm day. Already on a power trip, and thinks it owns the place. As it is now, I have to prop up the keyboard with it's own puny little feet. It's not a jumper that's for sure. The last one died for no reason and took half my stuff with it. I don't want to make this one mad.

Dying....it makes me wonder how they managed to pull off Pearl Harbor.
I think they better have him neutered. Might calm him down. ;)

Careful, don't download BrowserAccelerator, it is spyware.
I learned several years ago to avoid all these programs which claim to "speed things up" for my machine - generally, just a daily de-frag, and SystemWorks run from the CD keep the machine humming along.
Does my editted post make more sense? Goldi works for a huge defense contractor, claims no link between that and LP, but is not around on weekend?
Ah I get it. I wasn't aware she worked for a defense contractor. No wonder she's a warbot. The WOT is filling her belly (not to mention her wallet).
This helps to explain the cognitive dissonance between her small government views in regards to the WOD, taxes, regulation, guns, etc and her love of big government as it pertains to the WOT.

I was just concerned because someone seeing the test is a hook for that spyware might not be aware that any software so piously billing itself free forever is going to hose your machine and give people knowledge of your browsing habits.
I spend a certain amount of time with machines people swear were fine and are just broke now. They all had massive spyware problems, some with that crap that re-writes the registry entry every boot up of the crap you are trying to delete.
On Friend wanted to go back on dial-up because he swore his machine worked better on it.
I am sick of adware, it's stupid I have to pay for anti-virus and spyware protection because Congress is too gutless to stop this invasion of privacy.
There, I feel better so I get off my adware soapbox. ;-)

Recently, I had to fire up a four year-old machine running Win2000: after a half a day of updating the OS, I grabbed the free versions of BitDefender, VCatch, SpyCatcher, SpyBot, and installed the Explorer skin Maxthon. There are no pop-ups whatever and the cost was zilch.
Whenever the other machine is repaired/replaced, I'll go ahead and pay for the "professional" versions of the same programs.
