All is Vanity See other All is Vanity Articles Title: Arab Americans to Commemorate 9/11 with Interfaith Prayer To: Assignment Desk, Daybook Editor Contact: Nidal Ibrahim of the Arab American Institute, 202-429-9210, nibrahim@aaiusa.org News Advisory: Arab Americans will commemorate the fifth anniversary of the Sept. 11 attacks with an interfaith prayer luncheon featuring leaders of the Christian, Jewish and Muslim faiths. Former Congressman Tim Roemer, a member of the 9/11 Commission, also will speak at the Arab American Institute's National Leadership Conference, where he will talk about the role of Arab Americans in keeping the U.S. safe. The luncheon will be part of a National Leadership Conference organized by the Arab American Institute (AAI). Entitled "Healing the Nation: An Arab American Agenda for Security, Liberty and Peace," the conference will take place on Sept. 10 to 12. It will feature interfaith prayers by Imam Mohamed Magid, from the All Dulles Areas Muslim Society, Rev. George Rados from Saints Peter and Paul Orthodox Church, Rabbi David Saperstein, from the Religious Action Center of Reform Judaism and Bishop Jane Holmes Dixon, of The Interfaith Alliance. The National Leadership Conference will also feature a number of plenary sessions on the humanitarian crises in Lebanon and Palestine and the November 2006 Congressional elections. Confirmed speakers at the two-day event include Sen. Russ Feingold (D-Wis.) Sen. John E. Sununu (R-N.H.) Rep. Mike Honda (D-Calif.), Rep. Charles Boustany (R-La.), Rep Darrell E. Issa (R-Calif), and Rep. Ray LaHood (R-Ill.).
