As Autumn leaves fall, we say goodbye to the Summer of 2006. Thinking of Summer songs, this seemed to come to mind. :) Who knows if New Years Day 2007, will usher in the United States again.

Sittin in my car outside your house

member when you spilled coke all over you blouse

T-shirts, cut-offs, and a pair of thongs

Weve been having fun all summer long

I cant see enough of you

(all summer long weve both been free)

Wont be long til summer time is through

(summer time is through)

Not for us now

Miniature golf and hondas in the hills

When we rode the horse we got some thrills

Every now and the we hear our song

Weve been having fun all summer long

Wont be long til summer time is through

(summer time is through)

Not for us now

Every now and the we hear our song

Weve been having fun all summer long

Weve been having fun all summer long

Weve been having fun all summer long

Weve been having fun all summer long

Norwegian Wood

John Lennon: "I was trying to write about an affair, so it was very gobbledegooky. I was trying to write about an affair without letting my wife know I was having one. I was sort of writing from my experiences ... girl's flats, things like that." He also said: "'Norwegian Wood' is my song completely. It was about an affair I was having. I was very careful and paranoid because I didn't want my wife, Cyn, to know that there really was something going on outside of the household. I'd always had some kind of affairs going on, so I was trying to be sophisticated in writing about an affair ... but in such a smoke-screen way that you couldn't tell. But I can't remember any specific woman it had to do with."

P.S. It was from the "Rubber Soul" album... ;)

Phant.. Your earthquake song!! What was the official reading?? 4.?

Natalie Merchant - music (someone else's video..)

"San Andreas Fault"

Go west

Paradise is there

You'll have all that you can eat

Of milk & honey over there

You'll be the brightest star

The world has ever seen

Sun-baked slender heroine

Of film & magazine

Go west

Paradise is there

You'll have all that you can eat

Of milk & honey over there

You'll be the brightest light

The world has ever seen

The dizzy height of a jet-set life

You could never dream

Your pale blue eyes

Strawberry hair

Lips so sweet

Skin so fair

Your future bright

Beyond compare

It's rags to riches

Over there

San Andreas Fault

Moved its fingers

Through the ground

Earth divided

Plates collided

Such an awful sound

San Andreas Fault

Moved its fingers

Through the ground

Terra cotta shattered And the walls came

Tumbling down

O, promised land

O, wicked ground

Build a dream

Tear it down

O, promised land

What a wicked ground

Build a dream

Watch it all fall down

As Autumn leaves fall, we say goodbye to the Summer of 2006.

I welcome the cool calm and detachment that this season brings us, even if it suggests a bit of melancholy. I really loved that song...rolling through the jasmine in my mind...

Seems like there was an early Steve Miller Band tune about or even titled Autumn.

I found out why I can't view these vids, it's Flash. I'll get it going one of these days, then maybe I'll be able to relate to these threads in a more direct way. Music is the biggest part of my little life, and actually it's really bizarre that I'm so excluded from these threads.

Natalie Merchant

Love that woman! Absolutely love her. What a voice! And writes so much of her own stuff. Real creative talent is, sadly, so rare among female music stars these days. Posers get all the attention. I'm so glad for the few that manage to get to me through the industry. Loved her in 10,000 maniacs and also after.

Aaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaahhhhhhhhhhhh..... No NO!! LOL!! I had a Ricky Nelson album that had to have THE WORST color of aqua as the background. I used to file that sucker at the very very back of my 'collection'. You know the wire stand?? It was cool to have a full stand of records, and a whole separate one for your 45's. (with inserts)

But, it was horrifying if someone looked to the back of your collection.
