Judicial Watch Releases 9/11 CITGO Video

Judicial Watch, the public interest group that investigates and prosecutes government corruption, today released a videotape from the FBI that was taken from a CITGO gas station near the Pentagon. Many believed the video would show American Airlines Flight 77 striking the Pentagon on September 11, 2001. The videotape, which depicts views from the gas station's six security cameras, shows that the CITGO cameras did not seem to capture the actual attack. The tape was partially obscured by the FBI to protect the privacy of individuals captured on video in the CITGO convenience store.

The FBI released the videotape as result a Judicial Watch Freedom of Information Act request and related lawsuit.

If the video doesn't show what hit the Pentagon, I wonder why the government was so slow to release it.

How did government agents know to storm the Comfort Inn only hours after the Twin Towers fell? Why did the FBI release surveillance video of Atta and Alomari at various locations in South Portland, but not the lobby of the Comfort Inn?

What, she wonders, is on that tape?

The importance of this in my opinion is the legal precedent set.

There is now no justification for not releasing the surveillance video the FBI confiscated from the Comfort Inn.

What about he Sheriton Hotel across the way?

Good question.

I still do not understand why FBI Agents were dispatched to the CITGO to confiscate a worthless videotape.

All airliners had been grounded based on a reasonable judgement that there might have been hijackers on other planes.

The federal government had absolute and complete custody of all the potential hijackers they grounded the entire system for locked in cigar shaped holding cells, sometimes called airliners.

Via the FAA, each grounded airliner could have been parked on a taxiway and released one at a time to taxi to a gate where law enforcement personnel could have interviewed all the passengers and detained all non-U.S. citizens for futher questioning.

Instead of dispatching FBI Agents to the airports to arrest the people they just shut down the entire system for,the FBI was out confiscating worthless videos.

The Pentagon had an extemely sophisticated perimeter video surveillance system with one camera on the roof right above the heliport, i.e. impact point. If the FBI simply wanted evidence to determine what hit the Pentagon, all they had to do was call the office at the Pentagon that records the information from the cameras.

There is so much video and pictures out there. Look at the home video just released by the individual 500 yards from the north tower. Why did he hold that for 5 years?

I guess my basic question is, why would a business owner spend money to install and maintain a system that provides this kind of recording of the area? What could it possibly be used for?

The FBI also stormed some Florida locations within hours and took tapes and files.

I'd venture the original was of higher quality than this net reproduction can offer. But still, I see no reason why it was necessary to keep this video under wraps for 5 years. Any guesses to when the plane hit the pentagon in it?

How about never? The plane didn't hit he Pentagon or a video of it would have been shown by now. Why would they cover-up something they claim to be true unless it's not true? There is no reason to not show the American public the video of the plane hitting the Pentagon other than the fact they have no video of AA 77 hitting the Pentagon because it never hit it.

I wrote to Judicial Watch asking them if they were told what equipment was used by the Citgo, or if they could get that information.

From that I can tell if this a BS video or not.

If the Citgo use a simples multiplexor, which is a waste of time and money, this is the best we can get. However, if they had a duplex multiplexor, then there is full size video of each individual camera and what the FBI did was play back the multiplexed video in a split screen format, record it that way onto another recorder, and release it.

If I had make and model numbers, I can tell how we ended up with this useless video.

Your question brought this to mind:

A blockbuster item concludes discussion on the first side of the program. A surveillance video from a Venice (Florida) pharmacy indicates that Mohamed Atta’s father was in Florida and appeared to be leading the terrorist cadre. The videotape appears to have been edited by the FBI to eliminate the footage of Atta, Sr. In FTR#521, we saw that Atta’s father endorsed the London transit bombings of July of 2001. “In the second major blow in as many weeks to the credibility of the 9/11 Commission report, the MadCowMorningNews has learned exclusively that during final preparations for the Sept. 11 attack, Mohamed Atta’s father was ‘visiting’ his terrorist ringleader son in Venice, Florida. Moreover, the FBI knew about the U.S. visit of Cairo attorney Mohammed El-Amir almost immediately after the attack, when, after seeing him on television denying that his son had anything to do with the terrorist hijackings, a number of credible witnesses called the Sarasota office of the FBI to report they had seen Atta’s father in Venice with his son ten days to two weeks before the attack. In addition closed circuit videotape provided to the FBI as evidence of Atta Senior’s presence appears to have been intentionally erased. . . .” (“Mohamed Atta Senior in U.S. Two Weeks Before 9/11 Attack” by Daniel Hopsicker; MadCowMorningNews; 8/23/2005; accessed at: http://www.madcowprod.com/08232 005.html.)

Good editing takes time.

No one will ever convince me that the Pentagon did not have its own expensive, high-quality cameras, with full 30 fps video from every angle of that oddly shaped building.
