Text of a Letter from the President to the Speaker of the House of Representatives and the President Pro Tempore of the Senate
March 18, 2003
Dear Mr. Speaker: (Dear Mr. President:)
Consistent with section 3(b) of the Authorization for Use of Military Force Against Iraq Resolution of 2002 (Public Law 107-243), and based on information available to me, including that in the enclosed document, I determine that:
(1) reliance by the United States on further diplomatic and other peaceful means alone will neither (A) adequately protect the national security of the United States against the continuing threat posed by Iraq nor (B) likely lead to enforcement of all relevant United Nations Security Council resolutions regarding Iraq; and
(2) acting pursuant to the Constitution and Public Law 107- 243 is consistent with the United States and other countries continuing to take the necessary actions against international terrorists and terrorist organizations, including those nations, organizations, or persons who planned, authorized, committed, or aided the terrorist attacks that occurred on September 11, 2001.
Sincerely,
GEORGE W. BUSH

"This is a man that we know has had connections with al-Qaida," he continued, referring to Saddam. "This is a man who, in my judgment, would like to use al-Qaida as a forward army. And this is a man that we must deal with for the sake of peace."
Or this one:
"Saddam Hussein and his weapons are a direct threat to this country," Bush said March 6 in a White House news conference. "The attacks of Sept. 11 showed what the enemies of America did with four airplanes. We will not wait to see what terrorists or terrorist states could do with weapons of mass destruction."

For the sake of PERPETUAL WAR.
Thanks for the link Uncle Bill..
If we were really at war, the borders would be closed.
Great interview. And interestingly, BO* knowing there were no WMD now, still keeps to the script. Rather than changing course based on bad intel, he can't / won't / is too ignorant, to concede, no one's child should be sent to war based on this 'lie / mistake'. To continue to do so, is an act of genocide IMO. And there too, is a bigger point he must deliberately avoid. Why WOULD we continue, given that basis? He knows, and it shows.
*BO... don't watch him anymore.. hands are too hairy, it's so distracting, I can't hear him. ;)
