Suggestion: Fighting them gives away your power. Direct your attention and energies towards what it is you want to see happen. Release them and yourself from their bondage. Start by deleting them from your favorites. Stay over here and contribute your valuable insights.
Are you trying to fight people or educate them? If you want a fight, you will entrench their way of thinking. If you want to educate them, you may win a few over. Its all in the tactics used.

You want to fight them? Stop posting there. Let the site implode into the FR2 echo chamber, and post somewhere where folks are more reasonable, like here. I haven't posted on LP in over a month, and I won't be posting there anymore. My 2 cents.

I can, except I am now banned at that site for posting from a site censored from LP. Of course the site was censored in the aftermath of the banning, but Goldi doesn't let logic and inconvenient details get in the way of making sure the truth as she sees it gets the best play at Liberty Post. You have one guy in particular who appears to be there solely to spin damage control on what the truth is doing to the 9-11 cover story. Any forum with a high enough Alexi ratings seems to have these shills and agent provocateurs. Not many people here like going there, working hard on presenting an issue then having the forum owner cut them off at the knees if they are too successful is not fun, and it wastes effort and precious time. I have a counter proposal; come here and read and post on 9-11 at 4UM more often. Find out what works best and take what you learn back there to try to make that little old sow's ear a silk purse. Use the embedded E mail system to form your group spreading the truth over there. If 4UM keeps growing, we will counter some of the damage LP and FR does to the truth. And if you build or re-establish rapport with the posting community here, you might be able to get some flying monkeys to go over there to rip apart their scare cow of a lie that bin Laden and his people hit the Pentagon and made those three buildings in New York fall. It isn't likely though. That sure makes this job complicated, doesn't it? But unfortunately, as simple and obvious as the truth is concerning 9-11, getting by the criminals in power and their deep layering of lackeys protecting their ass on the Internet is as hard and convoluted as fighting a World War Three in the virtual world.
There comes a time when you have to admit a cause is lost like Verdun, Stalingrad, and today's Middle East Adventure. Focus on the fence sitters and the uninformed. Forget the bots (of both left and right variety), they are a lost cause.

the only reason people read LP is to see the fights. nobody is going to waste

We did that in the months before the 2004 election and were making headway. Then out of the blue, a forum owner who is likely a friend of Goldi - ALS - and others from Conservababes.com showed up and knocked things back and hurt our momentum in our advocacy against GW Bush. Goldi more likely then not instigated that, and there are many examples how she tweaks things to make it look like the side of the debate she hates has a fair voice, then cuts those on that side she hates off at the knees. It is insane to keep doing the same thing hoping for different results and not getting it. The big problem is the woman who has the moderator's screen.
The woman is right Itisa1mosttoolate. When you argue with a group of lying, ignorant and deceitful people like you have there, you run into the danger of the Lurkers not being able to figure which side are the saints, and which the scoundrels. And such a draw they count as a win in the fight to expose the truth as to what happened on 9-11.

The posters you mentioned, and others like "barf alert" and "Badeye," are paid hacks, as should be obvious to everyone who follows their posting habits and history. The fact that GL gives them the run of the place leads to no other conclusion than she is compromised too. Better that those who want to debate issues in good faith leave that site and let it die. I don't have any regrets about leaving LP.
I would "fight" them if I thought for a second it was worth my time. But having spent a couple years over there and many more at FR I realize that most reichwingers are either too stupid to argue with as they don't possess the capacity for logic and critical thought or they are just shills and they are there to lie and waste your time and engage in cheap childish diversion. Have fun. Arguing with a clump of sewer sludge is a more productive past time. Years ago- real internet debate was possible- now the scum shills have ruined most of the major boards. Now the best you can hope for is to expand your knowledge with like minded individuals. You won't do that arguing with people with whom basic reality eludes and who are not interested in truth whatsoever.

Go to the Biker Bar and post a thread asking people to come here and really get informed on the truth of 9-11. You will piss Goldi off as we are a growing headache for her, and if you are banned you have a place to go better then there, and people will better know where to go to find you. ;-D
nobody's fought that good fight harder than you. my strong sympathies for this. You're right about 'preaching to the choir' and you're right about good fight at church of satan over there. but others are right too that it may be of no value to keep fighting. Certainly it is very little value over here because you are preaching to the choir. Probably more valuable over there. You are very disciplined and polite as you haven't been banned. I was banned about 2 years ago over at LP. My only advice is - don't let it get you down. Keep your head held high. you've done the right thing. For the sake of your conscience and mental health continue to do the right thing. But don't expect to win. expect instead that the one who made us will return ... etc etc.
the fighting is the draw. i don't think many people have problems seeing through barf alert or the others, their arguments are usually childish. the LP regulars are not good at putting out a message. notice how few articles are posted now. almost none. these people are mainly interested in preventing others from getting out an unapproved message. i think that if the rational posters ever withdraw, the place will die. this thread is good however as it will get every single LP poster reading over here --- and they could use the education.
That says it all. The majority of LP reichwinger posters utterly lack it and they are not there in good faith at all. They have an agenda and that's it- fuck the facts- screw logic- screw common sense- screw basic reality to the point of looking absurd. It is childish, insulting to the lurker and to me, and a waste of time.

The key is to know that you're going to be subjected to a lot of 'psyops' tactics which will include casting 'shame,' and 'guilt.' The methods are finely tuned - IF you don't recognize them. If you can just blow the bastards off & stick to facts, you can win. (I was never good at that.)

you will never convince the posters on LP of anything. if you prove them wrong they will just spin and squirm and refuse to see the facts in front of their faces. this has some value as it shows the readers the type of person who still pushes the LP viewpoint. but if you want to get your message out, it is probably better to do it over here -- without the harassment.
i think the goal is to develop a site where people like to come and read. maybe log on for news the first thing in the morning. this is powerful. converting ten or twelve hate filled substance abusers over on LP chnages nothing. that is why it is probably wrong to fight on LP and give them their draw. the posters there can only spew hate and talking points. no one is interested in that except a small minority who won't change. without the fights, the place dies.
I just enjoy a forum where people are interested in the truth, and don't abuse someone who may have a differing point of view - if we can't look at other ideas, without going into a foaming rage, then we are no better than the ElPee's or FReeper's. But that's just me...civility and common courtesy are way high on my list. Cheers.

Great analogy christine. All of us have passed thru numerous forums, most with the flame-bait style of LP. When Goldi stocked the pond with warbots prior to Iraq, that was the last straw for me. Add to that insult her phony claim of being a constitutionalist *and* an even handed moderator. She treats adults like kids and I for one find it insulting.
I think most here have a good sense of basic reality and are refreshingly free of "isms". El Pee and FR are forums for rote thinking ideologues who first pass everything through an ideological filter that automatically renders them incapable of seeing anything but dim flickers of the truth. Imagine the truth is a candle reflection on the wall of a deep cave. Well- El Pee'ers and Freakers are outside the cave and all they can see- sometimes- is a flash of light. They fear going into the cave. Their ideological templates tell them the cave is evil (this is the same for Leftwing nuts of the two party fraud). Others however do venture into the cave- some further than others- the shadows cast by the candle clearer to some in the cave than others. Everyone here- is at least in the cave. We don't have all the answers. We grope about in the dimness and search for it. We certainly don't all agree- and I think some here have some pretty fucked up ideas about what the candle light reveals- but again- at least we are not on threads dismissing everything that challanges our neat and tidy circular logic world with cliche template one liners about the "librul media" or dismissing anything out of hand that doesn't come from some party line rag journal.
