We did that in the months before the 2004 election and were making headway. Then out of the blue, a forum owner who is likely a friend of Goldi - ALS - and others from Conservababes.com showed up and knocked things back and hurt our momentum in our advocacy against GW Bush.

Goldi more likely then not instigated that, and there are many examples how she tweaks things to make it look like the side of the debate she hates has a fair voice, then cuts those on that side she hates off at the knees.

It is insane to keep doing the same thing hoping for different results and not getting it. The big problem is the woman who has the moderator's screen.

Go to the Biker Bar and post a thread asking people to come here and really get informed on the truth of 9-11.

You will piss Goldi off as we are a growing headache for her, and if you are banned you have a place to go better then there, and people will better know where to go to find you. ;-D

my strong sympathies for this.

You're right about 'preaching to the choir' and you're right about good fight at church of satan over there. but others are right too that it may be of no value to keep fighting. Certainly it is very little value over here because you are preaching to the choir. Probably more valuable over there.

You are very disciplined and polite as you haven't been banned. I was banned about 2 years ago over at LP.

My only advice is - don't let it get you down. Keep your head held high. you've done the right thing. For the sake of your conscience and mental health continue to do the right thing. But don't expect to win.

expect instead that the one who made us will return ... etc etc.

Oh, we shouldn't? Ok, that's your choice and opinion. I look at it differently than you do. See 4um's reason for being:

If you think you're affecting anything or changing the minds of paid posters and/or government worshipping shills, have at it. I created this forum because I realized a long time ago that it's a waste of time and energy. Not only that, it's detrimental to my peace of mind. I choose to spend my time learning from and sharing ideas with intelligent critical thinkers who also share many of my values. Further, it's my opinion that readers of this forum learn a lot more from the information posted by our members than from either LP or FR.

I choose to listen to alternative radio rather than MSM lies and propaganda for the same reasons.

Honestly.. it's an exercise in futility. How can you 'fight' people who are being paid to post? You're just helping them get a paycheck.. it's a waste of time IMO.. You say it's preaching to the choir.. well not necessarily.. most here DO have a clue.. but everyone who does are at different levels of understanding.. it's not a waste of time whatsoever. I left LP cause being there was a waste of MY time.. just as it was at FR..

i think the goal is to develop a site where people like to come and read. maybe log on for news the first thing in the morning. this is powerful. converting ten or twelve hate filled substance abusers over on LP chnages nothing.

that is why it is probably wrong to fight on LP and give them their draw. the posters there can only spew hate and talking points. no one is interested in that except a small minority who won't change. without the fights, the place dies.

A goodly number don't want to know the truth; they can't handle the truth, so why try to fight that?

Yawn. If I wanted to do that, I'd go re-register at freak republick. There comes a point when a site becomes just another Klan rally, and the only folks going there are going to get lynched.

If Goldi hadn't shown her true colors, I'd still be there, but after the hateful crap she posted and the totally unwarranted bannings and pullings of posts, it's no longer anything like a "neutral" site.

If you want to fight the good fight, go be conservative on Kos, liberal on FR or pro-government on Rockwell. Me, to the extent possible, I just want thoughtful dialogue, not nasty contrariness, which is what LP is now.

The site is a dead hole. Why waste my time?
