Yawn. If I wanted to do that, I'd go re-register at freak republick. There comes a point when a site becomes just another Klan rally, and the only folks going there are going to get lynched.

If Goldi hadn't shown her true colors, I'd still be there, but after the hateful crap she posted and the totally unwarranted bannings and pullings of posts, it's no longer anything like a "neutral" site.

If you want to fight the good fight, go be conservative on Kos, liberal on FR or pro-government on Rockwell. Me, to the extent possible, I just want thoughtful dialogue, not nasty contrariness, which is what LP is now.

The site is a dead hole. Why waste my time?

I was over reading some old threads from 2003 last night. You can't appreciate how far the place has fallen until you do that. I was really amazed at the depth and knowledge of some of the posters. There was something resembling an actual debate going on. The place is a mindless cesspool now. A good way to see this is to simply search badeye, he's on every thread, and then click back about 100 pages to 2002 or 2003.

Over the last few days, my view of this whole WMD "issue" has relaxed a bit.

What exactly does this mean?

I"m not concerned that we won't find them. I'm convinced completely that they are there. And the political fallout when these weapons are found will devastate all the Democrats that have leaped to the outlandish conclusion that "Bush Lied".

My biggest concern on the WMD's is who knows where they are hidden, and if they are trying to cut a deal with Syria, or a terrorist group.

But from a political standpoint, I'm pretty calm about the daily "where are they" rants from the left. They are going to march right off the cliff, as they have on damn near every other "Bush" related issue.

As Fox gloated last night, we now have the majority of the Iraqi power structure in custody. They are all desperate to make a deal. Why don't they lead us to some of this stuff if it exists. They now have nothing to loose and everything to gain.

The "trailers" are inconvertable proof of a WMD program. There is simply no other viable use for them (I had to laugh reading the "artillery balloon" stuff).

But, as I've said from day one, it would be nice to have a few dozen chemical artillery shells to display.

I've given the question of "why hasn't anyone given them up" a bit of thought, as well as the various remarks by the President and his advisors.

My gut tells me that the big threat right now is one of the former regime's mid level military types aretrying to sell some of this stuff to either the Syrians, or possibly a terrorist group or three. Until we find the cache, we won't know for sure.

And I haven't changed my position on this matter. If it comes out that our intelligence "blew it" I want somebody's ass on a plate.
