The Doors-Riders On The Storm

The very, very best Doors song. Thanks, Brian.

And to the generator too..

If we were really at war, the borders would be closed.

I love it when we are "almost" off the "grid".

Thankfully our cable company had the sense to bury their lines out in these "sticks" and rarely go out of service...

LOL.

I think ole time country music sounds best on AM radio with the crackle of static in the background myself.

Without a doubt, it "sets the mood"...

XM-Sirius radio playing ole time country? Spare me, will you!!!

/chuckle

I saw somewhere that one of those labels, maybe Arhoolie, actually adds crackling to its CDs to get the flavor of old 78s. Might be apocraphyl, but who knows.

We're getting our first snow tonight. Mountains were all covered this morning and it's coming down here now.

This is nice. It's just around freezing, still and the snow is coming down. We are just off the high Wyoming plains and get the 80 mph north winds a lot. That's what I hate. Thirty below wind that picks up medium sized rocks and smacks you in the face with them.

Interesting.

I have the same preference on listening to baseball. AM is the best.

I really think it brings back good memories of past days when AM was the only option we had in dads pickup and cherished it dearly.

I doubt anyone younger than 40 could related.

We're getting our first snow tonight.

I heard there was some snow being laid down out that way...

We almost had our first frost this week with temps dipping to 37.

Have one more batch of tomatoes to put in jars before I need THAT to happen!

In all honesty, it's not so bad to set the vinyl down on the player, and let the cracks play between the songs... scratches, cracks & pops.. whatever... it's almost better with the noise, as testimony, to it's times. I really wouldn't want it any other way.. Though I do enjoy re-mastered tapes to remove the noise.. still.. It's part of our heritage.. and I like it.. :)
