I never thought I liked Marachi music, untill, at Torreon, (or was it Gomez Palacio?) Mexico, we encountered a Marachi band that slapped me upside down, and showed me that Marachi, properly done, was absolute earth experience. Like shooting stars, or an eclipse.
A recording cannot explain the music. It has to be live. A Mexico earthy Manly Opera, consumed with sorrow and joy.
