I have mixed feelings. I don't want to see anything happen to New York, but it's one way to get rid of the UN.

Which has no bearing at all on whether its destruction would be a bad thing... I can't recall prominent neocons calling precisely for that though. I think the worst/best Kristol has ever said about the UN is that he would be "open" to US withdrawal.
Did anyone notice that the article in which Goldi has posted contains a prediction, based upon Biblical "scholarship," that the UN Plaza will be struck tomorrow? It might be interesting to check the source website on the 27th, to see how the the failure at prophesy has been rationalized.

Exactly. The pretzels the wingnutters have to contort themselves into over the UN is hilarious and a major example of their disconnect from basic reality. The wingnutter line on the UN is that it is a hotbed of anti Americanism and communists that can't be trusted on anything. And yet- the same Federal government they worship and adore (when their guys are in office) funds fully half of the UN- owns more than half of the delegates to the UN and uses it more often than not to successfully provide slender cover for their acts of aggression and wars. Now- when a country points out the misuse of the UN to provide cover for US acts of aggression- the reichwingers fall all over themselves saying that "even the UN said . . " Your average reichwinger is so effing stupid that he thinks the UN leads the US around and not the other way around. Nope. She doesn't joke about stuf like that. She works for a firm that makes money on war, and is influenced by what she learns and knows of war from there. This is no drill, this is no joke.
That's a fact. On the thread I was banned, she entertained the idea of helping terrorists fly airliners into the UN building. Seems like she would be more than happy to help in any sort of terror act in this country that would benefit the nation that has her true allegience. From UN SPYING FOR HEZBOLLAH ? If the terrorists strike here again, and choose New York, can we point them to the UN Building? It would not bother me in the least if the terrorists flew an aircraft into THAT building. It's an abomination on our soil. I'd just want all the people to escape the building unharmed. Once the building was destroyed, maybe they'd re-build it over in Europe somewhere.
