I have mixed feelings. I don't want to see anything happen to New York, but it's one way to get rid of the UN.

If all the New Yorkers clear out, maybe it'll be a tiny Nuke, and only the UN will be impacted.

THAT would be a good thing.

I too would like the UN gone. But not New Yorkers.

wonder why they're not applauding Chávez's call to set up a new UN outside the U.S.

Wouldn't that be fucking hilarious?

Personally I think it's shameful that the Moderator of a political discussion forum makes such an irresponsible remark.

Come on - she's a Mod - how can she possibly expect posters to respect the rules of her forum if she herself makes such a careless if not dangerous comment? Shish...what was she thinking???

The neo-con-artists love to use the UN as an excuse for committing their acts of war, but pretend to desire its destruction when they need to score some political points.

Which has no bearing at all on whether its destruction would be a bad thing...

I can't recall prominent neocons calling precisely for that though.

I think the worst/best Kristol has ever said about the UN is that he would be "open" to US withdrawal.

I hate it when they ain't been shaved.

Did anyone notice that the article in which Goldi has posted contains a prediction, based upon Biblical "scholarship," that the UN Plaza will be struck tomorrow?

It might be interesting to check the source website on the 27th, to see how the the failure at prophesy has been rationalized.

This bullshit about how they want the US out of the UN is just that. They LOVE the UN.

Exactly. The pretzels the wingnutters have to contort themselves into over the UN is hilarious and a major example of their disconnect from basic reality.

The wingnutter line on the UN is that it is a hotbed of anti Americanism and communists that can't be trusted on anything. And yet- the same Federal government they worship and adore (when their guys are in office) funds fully half of the UN- owns more than half of the delegates to the UN and uses it more often than not to successfully provide slender cover for their acts of aggression and wars.

Now- when a country points out the misuse of the UN to provide cover for US acts of aggression- the reichwingers fall all over themselves saying that "even the UN said . . "

Your average reichwinger is so effing stupid that he thinks the UN leads the US around and not the other way around. Point out to them that the US basically pays the UN bills and they shrug and mumble about "communists" in the US government or some such nonsense. Such controlled boobs.

The communist compassionate conservative contract club (CCCCC)

From Here:

If you recall last Sunday night's 60 Minutes, in which Clark first made his claims, Deputy National Security Advisor Steve Hadley essentially accused Clarke of lying about an alleged encounter between Clarke and President Bush just after 9/11. In this encounter, the president supposedly pressed Clarke to investigate Saddam's possible ties to the attacks.

Hadley was quickly tripped up by the fact that CBS had two sources who confirmed that the encounter had occurred, including one who was in fact present during the discussion.

The White House has kept calling Clarke a liar until today. From CBS this evening ...

Retracted White House statements do little to boost public trust. CBS News Correspondent Jim Stewart reports, until today, the Bush administration denied a meeting had taken place between the president and Clarke, during which Bush allegedly instructed Clarke to investigate Saddam Hussein and Iraq after Sept. 11.

The White House today reversed that comment, and staff members now tell reporters, "We are not denying such a meeting took place. It probably did."

So they called him a liar. But it seems they either had no evidence or their evidence turned out to be wrong.

If the Bush administration used small nukes to bring down the World Trade Center, Goldi is not going to be one to object.

That's a fact. On the thread I was banned, she entertained the idea of helping terrorists fly airliners into the UN building. Seems like she would be more than happy to help in any sort of terror act in this country that would benefit the nation that has her true allegience.

From UN SPYING FOR HEZBOLLAH ?

75. To: out damned spot (#0)

If the terrorists strike here again, and choose New York, can we point them to the UN Building?

It would not bother me in the least if the terrorists flew an aircraft into THAT building. It's an abomination on our soil.

I'd just want all the people to escape the building unharmed.

Once the building was destroyed, maybe they'd re-build it over in Europe somewhere.

Go to th elink at th esource url above, and then do the same at the LP page that pops up. BibleCode has changed their prediction. Take heed:

"We now predict a terrorist Nuclear Bomb will hit the UN plaza in Midtown Manhattan on 2006Tishri10 (between Sundown Thursday October 5th and Sundown Friday October 6th) We now have 10 revised scriptural calculations all of which predict this attack as falling in the Biblical Lunar Calendar month of Tishri, 2006 (i.e. before sundown October 26th, 2006). For a brief presentation of all of these calculations - see 10proofs. The attack will mark the start of what Isaiah 2, Isaiah 13, Ezekiel 7, Ezekiel 13, Joel 2, Amos 5, Zephaniah1, Zechariah 14 and Malachi 4 all describe as the 'Day of Jehovah' and what 1 Thessalonians 5 describes as the 'Day of the Lord', where the Lord is Jehovah rather than Jesus. For more on that 'day' see U272. The 'Day of Jehovah' is the last half, the last 25 months, of the 50 month Great Tribulation of Matthew 24. It is the 12 'hour' daylight part of the 24 'hour' day of the Great Tribulation which lasts from 2004Elul14 to 2008Heshvan6, the last day of Armageddon. The reason that we, in the West, have not seen much evidence of the Great Tribulation as yet, is that we have for the last 25 months been in the evening part of the Great Tribulation, the night time part of it. The Hebrew day runs from sundown to sundown, so it starts with the evening half and then comes the morning half. So it is this present BLC month of Tishri, in fact on 2006Tishri10, at the mid point of the 'Day of Jehovah', when we change from the night time part of the Great Tribulation to the day time part. This month is the dawn!"
