It's been an extremely hectic day so I've not been able to follow this. From hearing snatches of Randi Rhodes it sounds like there was a vote in Congress today that would give POTUS the power to hold enemy combatants without right of appeal to a judge - in effect eliminating habeas corpus. I don't know what the definition of "enemy combatant" is, but I would guess most of us on this site would probably qualify, LMAO.

Any info/ideas on this?

The ACLU will be all over this one. If the bill passes, we have to wait to see its terms.

Human nature being constant, look up the history of "Camp Douglas," to see what tyranny has to offer in the 21st century. I think the History Channel did a special on that - "80 Acres of Hell."
