(Some people must say I'm infatuated with you I don't care 'cause they really don't know They'll never see or hear the things I do with you So far as I'm concerned they all can go to hell Doo, doo - doo, doo, doo Doo, doo - doo, doo, doo)
.........now is that nice.. they can all go to hell?? :P
oh wow the Velvet Underground.. I cant find a song by John Cale.. do you know the song Mercanaries?? Who IS that Cale is singing with in that song do you know?
Dunno but John Cale was with the Velvet Underground.. the song Mercenary/Going to War.. has lots of references online but never a link.. I have an MP3 of it.. very bizarre tune.
Mercenaries, abuseless, disunited, unfaithful They have never enough to keep them in a battle Other than a meager wage Which is just about enough to make them wanna kill for you
But not enough to make them wanna die for ya
I'm just another soldier boy I'm just another soldier boy Looking for work Looking for work Looking for work
My rifle is my friend My rifle is my friend
I clean my rifle everyday I clean my rifle everyday That's why my rifle is my friend
Ready for war, ready for war Ready for war, ready for war Ready for war, ready for war Ready for war, ready for war
Did some work in Zaire, the jolly old Belgian Congo
Went back to Geneva to get paid Back there in Geneva, that's were the money grows That's were the money grows, that's were the money flows
They didn't wanna pay me They didn't wanna pay me, but they did Try to separate me from my money is try to separate me from my life
Ready for war, ready for war Ready for war, ready for war
Ready for war, ready for war Ready for war, ready for war
Let's go to Moscow, let's go to Moscow Let's go, let's go, let's go to Moscow Fight the battle to the Kremlin Push it down and walk on in

Ready for war, ready for war You better be ready for war Ready for war, ready for war Are you ready for war Ready for war, ready for war
The links work for me and apparently others, but I noticed that there are spaces in the filename which are represented with a percent sign followed by "20" which is no doubt a carryover from a time when Unix/DOS did not allow spaces as part of a file name.
Long story short, if you really need to hear the songs I posted you might try right clicking on the link and copying the address from the properties, I'm really in no state to go into further detail right now. If you want to konw where I found all this weird-ass music, it started here
That's all I can tell you right now, I swear!
The faster the Aryan Nation mob at Freedom4um are caged and chained, the better off we'll be. Ill cheering when they are forced to behave. - Aaron
I saw John Cale earlier this year and he opened with that, playing the viola and singing. I've seen him about 20 times and it was the best show he ever did. I actually saw the VU when I was way too young to get into the bar in Revere Beach, Mass. They wanted my $2 and forced me to order beer, which I hated. I ended up with about six buds, all with one sip, and that was a lot of money for a 16 year old. But it was worth it.

Mercenaries (Ready for War) is from a tour with Mark Aaron on lead guitar. The female singer is Deerfrance. Hope that helps. I was at that show at the Bottom Line and have a poster with all the band's autographs.
BTW, it is impossible to find, but if you can, his album Caribbean Sunset is amazing and has a lot to say about what is happening in the world today. About the Arab world, "Camels, limousines and TANKS," which pretty well sums up the whole thing.
His recent records, particularly Hobosapien, are terrific, btw. And if you can see him live, he's at a level I have never seen before, with a band that is perfect.

OH thank you!! This has been torturing me :P I looked all over the net to find out who it was and never could.. how cool re you being at that concert.. and having a poster of the band! Congrats..
Hmm I'll look for Caribbean Sunset.. I'd find it interesting .. thats one thing I like about Cale's work the social commentary.. thanks.
De nada. Cale is perhaps my favorite musician. I love the mix of punk and classical music. I talked with him a bit last spring, and his memory is phenomenal. He remembered me from two specific concerts, one after my best friend died and he dedicated a song to him. His influence on everyone from Patti Smith to Radiohead and much more is so important to the intelligent side of rock music.
Glad I could help. He supposedly has a new album coming out around Xmas.
