WASHINGTON Sep 29, 2006 (AP)— Rep. Mark Foley, R-Fla., submitted a letter of resignation from Congress on Friday in the wake of questions about e-mails he wrote a former male page, according to a congressional official.

Foley, 52, had been considered a shoo-in for re-election until the e-mails surfaced in recent days.

Campaign aides had previously acknowledged that the Republican congressman e-mailed the former Capitol page five times, but had said there was nothing inappropriate about the exchange. The page was 16 at the time of the e-mail correspondence.

Foley's election opponent, Democrat Tim Mahoney, has called for an investigation.

I'd be willing to bet at least 50% of the Dems and 80% or more of the Repubs are pervs of one kind of another, or have some kind of skeleton in their closet.

I recall some speculation that the elite don't allow these people to advance into powerful positions unless they have the goods on them. That way the elite are able to press their agendas without encountering any significant obstacles.

Foley introduced a bill in 2002 to outlaw websites featuring controversial images of nude preteen children, saying that "these websites are nothing more than a fix for pedophiles

Looks like he was an expert on that topic.

He stayed long enough for the important torture and spying votes.

That's what I was just thinking.

These pervs seek out those kind of positions - both because it provides them with a way of getting victims, but also it serves as a protective coloration. I guess I'd have to be wary of a middle-aged bachelor with a strong interest in children.

A shoe-in to win they claim. Trouble is, he likes really small shoes.

At times like these I really wonder about the Lieberman kiss. What a complete loss of decorum on the part of the queer in chief, and so bizarre for Lieberman to smile like he did.. Uncomfortable, but unable to reject Bush's "advance"; like Bush had the goods on him and he'd better cooperate.

If the name of the new nominee is submitted after the certification of results of the preceding primary election, however, the ballots shall not be changed and the former party nominee’s name will appear on the ballot.

Any ballots cast for the former party nominee will be counted for the person designated by the political party to replace the former party nominee.

Looks like Foley's name will stay on the ballot, and, if the Republicans name a new candidate, any votes for Foley will go to the new candidate (who will not himself be on the ballot.)

I don't imagine too many people will actually vote for Foley in November.

Katrina was America's Chernobyl.

Florida ranks at the top of my "scary state" list. It is a state that seems to attract every rootless loser in the country. A state comprised of cheap developments inhabited by people who have absolutley no connection to each other and from all over the country and who might be gone the next day- following the next corporate cubicle farm in the state that offers them biggest tax break.

More likely the opposite. Lieberman et al had "the goods" on Prez Hindenbush and he was just acknowledging like Don Corleone would to a close confederate that he was carrying through with his "promise." The Kiss came after GWB delivered the State of the Union address when he registered with the sheeple the first "concerns" about Iran and for regime change there.

An adult who is sexually attracted to a child or children.

THIS IS EXACTLY HOW OUR GOVERNMENT HAS BEEN SUBVERTED.

The government is rife with pedophiles, perverts, and sickos, and in order to keep their secrets, they are willing to do whatever it takes to keep the skeletons in the closet.

Like this douchebag for instance. He's gay, and he's a pedophile. Wonder how he got along this far without being outed or going to jail? How many people did he sell out? How many deals has he made to keep people quiet?

It's the same with ALL of the politicians we have in government. They have dirty secrets which is why they are so easily controlled. When the people find out, that's when they resign and then another blackmailable candidate comes along.

This is why we will never have another Elliot Ness anywhere in government. They're upright, and can't be bought and sold like this piece of shit. What a fucking sicko.

What's that Mr. Nipples? You want me to ask the nice lady about her rack?.
