Foley has done great damage to both the Republican Party and to efforts by gays to be accepted and live normal lives, first by closeting himself and then by being exposed as a pedophile. Every gay is not a pedophile and every pedophile is not a gay. Foley has conflated those activities with devastating impact on public perception. The national Republican Party, moreover, must especially be held accountable for concealing the presence of a pedophilic predator in the House, and for allowing him to prey for months on other children who were employees of the House. Speaker Dennis Hastert owes the American people a full explanation of why he allowed the Foley scandal to simmer for almost a year after reports reached Republican leaders of Foley’s follies. Foley’s antics were no secret; but they were covered up by Republican leaders for crass political motives. For shame.
Whoever in the GOP knew, like Hastert, and left Foley as the head of the Missing and Exploited Children's Caucus, is an enabling accomplice and also guilty of whatever crimes Foley committed during the time they knew. But, they needed Foley's votes this week on torture and wiretapping. Now they don't need anyone's votes, ever again.

Foley’s behavior, and the behavior of the U. S. House Republican leadership, is so outrageous it is virtually unspeakable. The House Republican leadership should join Foley and resign. In disgrace. Republican leaders have known since last year of Foley’s predatory sexuality involving teenagers who work for the Congress. Now, we don’t know yet if any of his unsolicited importunations reached the point of sexual conquest, but I would not be surprised if they did. I am sure more victims will be surfacing in the days ahead. That is generally the way these sex scandals play out. The salacious e-mails will keep the controversy going on cable TV. And lawsuits against Foley are virtually a given.

This is especially damaging to the Rs given that they hold themselves up to the public as the party of family values. I also think this is the tip of the preverbal iceberg. As I understand this, Hastert was aware of Foley for more than a year and did nothing. This has an eerie parallel to the pedophile priest scandal, only I think it’s much larger in t erms of percentage. DC is a nest of liars, crooks and hypocrites. The way they’ve gerrymanded their districts, even if E- voting were on the level, incumbents would have a 95% chance of re-election. Sad stuff, but it all should make for a fun November.
Foley is the type of person who is disgusting to watch as they hyperventilate and promise anything and everything to anyone and everyone for a vote. Foley pumped himself up like a blowfish and had always worked Republican stalwarts just as self servingly and dishonestly as he does kids in lurid chat sessions on the Internet Foley was elected to the Florida House in 1990, and immediately began shaking down lobbyists in Tallahassee for money to stage a race for the state senate in 1992. He won again. Foley then began shaking down lobbyists again to raise money for yet another higher office: Congress. Using a mountain of special interest cash Foley was easily elected to the U. S. House in 1994. In four years he had gone from nonentity to congressman. He has proven by his now exposed predator grade lecherousness that crass and cynical exploitation of the political system does not replace substance, a strong ethical backbone and personal integrity. He is a smelly little blowfish rotting in the Florida sun, all the hot air and bantering long gone from this loon of a hot air balloon. Hastert’s despicable concealment of a pedophile predator on the public payroll is as equally disgraceful as Foley’s mendacity. Hastert was putting politics and the perpetuation of his own personal aggrandizement ahead of protecting children, and stands exposed, side-by-side with Foley, as a vile hypocrite. Once again America, and Republicans who come to politics as an honorable calling, are disgraced and diminished by their national leaders.

This is true. As for the loser with his stiff Richard as his only conscious, I recommend a name change and plastic surgery. The only job I see him eligible for in the near future otherwise is being a children's party clown like John Wayne Gacy Jr. was, or work as a bar back in a gay club running booze and beer to the bartender from the cooler.
The NY Times had an article earlier this year on the growing # of children in the MidWest who are in the hands of state programs because their parents have become unable to care for them due to Meth use. And with FL being a state with a huge # of missing children from its state program, I cannot help but feel quesy about all this. Then there are the children taken for no good reason whatsoever. Wasn't there a family being harassed because they homeschooled their children? Or was it because they refused some sort of govt sponsered medical procedure like vaccines? The recent rise in "Human Trafficking" to the 3rd highest way to make illegal $$, could also be part of all this.

It's a sad legacy of our times when all you see is the rats scurrying to shore things up and effect damage control. A bit of introspection and personal responsibility being exercised to make thing better as if you actually cared about this country and people would be faith restoring and would promote a healing effect to the system. Bit alas, hard drives and files are being checked and expunged of damaging data, cover stories and pat lines of self serving cover stories and explanations are being cooked up. Nothing has changed or will changed until the owners of the United States exercises their power and ruthlessly clean house. The sad truth is that unless we reinvent ourselves and wake up to realize integrity, caring and honesty are paramount to having a decent government that inspires the rest of the world and give real currency as a role model and leader, we are living on borrowed time. Reality is a cruel and ruthless collector of debts owed, and when the house of cards we have built with cruelly self serving motives that is our foreign and domestic policies meets the hurricane of desire for payback and capital owed it will not only be knocked down, but there won't be a piece of it anywhere near where it was built.

They are, as sex has morphed into a toxin that poisons their being with a craving for conquest. They fear being with peers they have to work the give and take of relationships as peers where they have to give as much or more as well as get. A child is easy prey in their inexperience and vulnerability to being dazzled and conned by a seasoned adult with no scruples. And make no mistake about it, this guy was a shameless flatterer who is a skin junkie who wants hard young bodied to engage in sexual intercourse with. He is like any pedophile in that he works the prey pool available to him. If he could get younger boys, he wouldn't be bothering with 15 and 16 year olds.

rightwing conspiracy among these perverts in government to kidnap and use children for their own gratification. this includes JUDGES. i believe that's the reason Child Protective Services so often removes children from the custody of their parents and gets them into THEIR system.
