I agree. I don't condone what Foley was doing, but evidently the DC elite ( both parties) had condoned it for quite some time. Then 1 month before the November bi-election, Foley gets "revealed." Just another of a string of GOP scandals, it would seem. Either the GOP is having some very bad luck all at once; or the GOP is throwing the election; or the Democrats are getting some help from some friends.
And exactly what is so bad about what time it becomes public that someone is diddling pervertedly with children? Frankly, who gives a flying fig leaf when the sonofabitch is outted? Two days before the election wouldn't matter either! The important thing is to get him outted and out of our lives--outted and on a list of sex perverts--better yet brand the forehead in large letters, like CM, CA, SP, etc., so that every step the sonofabitch takes it is evident to everyone in society to avoid him like the plague. I find it at least a tad bit MORE IMPORTANT to crucify the sonofabitch that wants to diddle with our children while hypocritically positioning himself as an advocate for missing and EXPLOITED kids! Seems your outrage is seriously misplaced. I daresay if it was your son who was the page involved with some political bastard trying to dicker with him, your opinion of timing wouldn't matter--you'd be wanting to kill the bastard with your bare hands.....that is, of course, unless you're a girly sort of man or...*gasp* like foley!
Here in Tampa a political columnist from the Tampa Tribune does a Saturday morning radio show. Today he also mentioned that it was commonly rumored in Florida political circles that Foley had problems in this area. I was personally unaware of this as I'm not a resident in Foley's district. News about Katherine Harris tends to drown out that of representatives from the east coast. The same goes for Gov. Allen. The pattern is clear if one cares to look. Perhaps the elite power brokers have recognized that the public is getting hip to their “neo-con hustle” and that it’s time for them to replace it with a newer (but equally malicious) illusion.

You're absolutely right. This was a political setup meant to hurt the Republican Party. Therefore, Foley's actions and the actions of the GOP are perfectly OK. Foley should be allowed to continue his important work in office, and the RP's role as pedophile enablers should be ignored. Friggin' dems think they can get away with this! The parent's didn't care, why should anyone else! The parent's are good Christians and understand that the RP is doing God's work. This work is hard, and Foley's an important man! If Foley needs some stress relief, he deserves it, regardless of who he turns to for that relief! It was probably a dem page that turned him in! Friggin' immoral ingrates. The audacity of people to bring this to our attention right now. Unfriggin' believeable that people do not see how political this is. On top of that, this situation may have a negative impact upon the Republican Party and the president as CIC in a time of WAR! Therefore, whomever started this politically motivated witch-hunt is guilty of purposefully and materially supporting hostilities against the United States and should be held as an enemy combatant. This outing of potentially criminal actions on behalf of the party of family values right before the election has got to stop NOW!
