Tax cuts that really do stimulate the economy and through increased activity raises revenue ....... Judges that do not legislate from the bench (as much) ....... at least for now .......... I don't care which party starts going in the right/correct direction ............... I prefer to work within a framework instead of scrapping everything and anarchy. One is fooling oneself if they think the left would be more protective of what rights we have left.

The biggest problem is not the Repubs. but the fact the opposition is more bankrupt and leaderless. There is nothing to push them in another direction. Perhaps a loss will wake them up. The loss in '94 did not help the left.

You are in denial. They are their own biggest problem, so don't blame the competition. Time to dump all the turds in the sandbox. You sprinkle some sand on your turds and call them almond roca if you want to, but it's still a turd. Bring in more sand to cover the smell... changes nothing, still a turd down there. Even if the Democrats don't quite take a majority in the Senate, I think we'll be looking at a swing of at least four votes. In a 51-49 Senate, the Democrats will have a lot more power, and be able to filibuster all sorts of things they can't now.

I think I heard on C-SPAN this morning that the latest polling puts Tester seven points ahead. If an incumbent like Burns is polling that badly, I think he's road kill. Isn't Tester a real rancher (as opposed to faux rancher Bush)?

Is this the fat guy with a buzz haircut? I had C-Span on as I was falling asleep last night and they were showing the Montana senate debate. The GOP incumbent is, apparently, the #1 recipient of Abramoff donations and the Demo guy made sure that everyone was aware of it. The GOP guy was advancing this most bizarre defense saying that 'forget about what he took from Abramoff because Montana was always his number one priority so, he may be corrupt in many ways but he never betrayed his beloved Montana'. Then I fell asleep.
Antiparty - find out why, think about 'how'

I think we can assume Santorum will be gone. Allen's fate is not yet clear.

I didn't see any gridlock when they just passed the torture bill that gutted our Constitution. A Senate where the Democrats had a bit more confidence and votes would have blocked it.
