The Roman Catholic diocese of Palm Beach, Florida, and national advocacy groups for victims of sexual abuse called yesterday for former representative Mark Foley (R-Florida) to give police the name of the clergyman who allegedly abused him as a teenager.

"He should absolutely report the perpetrator, living or dead," said David Clohessy, national director of the 7,000-member Survivors Network of Those Abused by Priests. "He should do it now, not when his civil lawyer says it is convenient. Every day that a molester walks free is a day when he can hurt other kids."

Foley's attorney, David Roth, told reporters Tuesday that the former congressman, who was raised as a Catholic, was molested by a clergyman when he was 13 to 15 years old, but Roth did not name the clergyman, and Palm Beach police said they have not received any report of the abuse.

Alexis Walkenstein, a spokeswoman for the Palm Beach diocese, said Foley has not reported the abuse to local Catholic Church officials, either.

Child molesters always have a story. They're sociopaths. Sometimes they'll do a big mea culpa and cry in public, but underneath it, they believe they have a right to have sex with children and us small-minded parent types are just limiting our kids' opportunities to explore their sexuality and have a "special friend" who will guide them through life. They really believe this shit, and nothing will ever change their minds.

He isn't a child molestor. He is just a scummy boozed out queen who wanted to fornicate with oldish teen boys who were under his employ and power- in that regard he is no different from your average gardern variety scumball corporate middle manager who tries to hump the high school summer intern. Except he is gay and instead of nubile 16 year old girls- he likes 16 year old boys. He is just trying to worm out of his reprehensible behavior by claiming he was molested- which I highly doubt.

Saying he is a child molestor is trying to distance and seperate this from what is a very real part of "gay" lifestyle- Ephebophilia- attraction to postpubescent adolescents, which is not the same as being a pedophile.

He is over thirty years older then they are. He can't have sex as a peer, which is precisely why pedophiles, or Ephebophiles do what they do. They feel intimidated and turned off by anyone who can stand up for themselves and deal with them like peers.

You do have a strong point about the sociopatic behavior and the difficulty in ascertaining what is or isn't true coming from people like this, but Foley's affliction is predatorial behavior focused on young victims, not homosexuality, which is just a part of the normal part of the human sexual spectrum.

"Whatever- if you want to deny the youth obsession of "gay culture" be my guest. It isn't reality."

Bubba, our entire culture uses youth to sell, and entertain, both heterosexual and homosexual cultures have that aspect to them.

But it's one thing to watch say the matrix and watch people get blown away in a zillion different ways and another to get a gun or bomb and do this yourself.

Myself, I am in the throes of an Amanda Bynes infatuation, but should I ever meet her, I would remember she is eight years younger then my son and thank her for the fine job she does in movies I enjoy watching her in.

Essentially, the problem is separating what the oppression and homophobia does to gay culture by forcing the closet option or unemployment, homelessness and a myriad of other problems being out face when dealing with rank bigotry.

Conservatives who whine about gays are much the problem - and to be fair I've run into liberals who disliked lesbians and gays who should know better.

If society had a defined and developed set of ethics and mores recognized and adhered to by both homo and heterosexual people, the problems we see would not exist. Being gay or lesbian would be no more noteworthy then someone's blue or brown eyes, or if the had nappy or straight hair.

All people should be allowed the domestic contracts of marriage and be expected to partner up for life as promiscuity is what is dangerous, not hetero-or homosexual conduct.

Now conversely my fine feathered interlocutor, if you want to deny these obvious truths, be my guest. But you are wrong to help perpetuate the problems of obscene hatred. Homophobia in many ways is as sick and disgusting a behavior as any human affliction.

And it is my fervent hope that more people wake up some day and realize this and develop societal cohesion that allows people to partner with the gender they are imprinted with erotically instead of being to adhere to the unrealistic expectation of bedding with a gender they do not find fires their rocket.

This aspect of human nature concerning human sexual imprinting is immutable and inherent to the nature of every person. One does not chose to be gay or lesbian anymore then they chose to titillated by a man if they are a woman, or a woman if they are a man.

It's as simple as that.

If homo folks followed mores and ethics they would stop their sinful behavior and seek help!

And don't try to throw the 'homophobia' label out. There is no 'fear' or phobia involved here. I believe we are to treat each person with dignity and respect but that does not mean embracing abominable & destructive .. both physically and spiritually.. behavior

What part of human nature explains bug chasers, particularly those who advertise in magazines and chat boards, and those who speak of the "ecstasy of the moment" when they too are infected with the deadly disease?

I don't know of any heteros who advertise for a lover to sicken them, but there have been too many court cases of men on the down low who lash out at women by intentionally passing the disease to unsuspecting straights.

Where are their hetereo counterparts?

No, homos and bisexual men who either beg to be infected or intentionally infect women are goddam evil, and they'd kill us all if they could.

Even the common sense survival suggestion of closing San Francisco bathhouses was met with foam at the mouth hatred, and their response was to attempt to contaminate the blood supply.

We should have quarantined every known AIDS victim in 1981, but because it is the only virus with civil rights it is now pandemic and beyond containment.

Would you have opposed quarantine because it would have most certainly hurt homosexuals' feelings? Or, should we simply write off the sickening and inevitable premature deaths of virtually every hemophiliac (who required transfusions) just to avoid singling certain people out?
