Bush honors DV Awareness month by campaign event with Congressman Choker

by Joe in DC - 10/17/2006 06:26:00 PM

Bush proclaimed October as National Domestic Violence Awarenss Month:

Domestic violence has no place in our society, and we have a moral obligation to help prevent it. The terrible tragedies that result from it destroy lives and insult the dignity of women, men, and children. National Domestic Violence Awareness Month is an opportunity to underscore our commitment to bringing an end to violence in the home.

A home should be a place of stability, comfort, and love. Domestic violence shatters this important foundation. My Administration is strongly committed to addressing domestic violence and helping those who have been victimized.

On October 19th, Bush will certainly raise awareness of domestic violence by headlining an event for the most renowned abuser in the Congress: Don Sherwood. Bush should bring a copy of his proclamation to Sherwood. He can address the issue directly with the Congressman.

What does a Republican candidate have to do for Bush to avoid them?

Just another instance of Bush saying something he absolutely does not believe in. He seems to take a perverse pleasure in spouting what he knows is BS.

I read on elPee today that Bush proclaimed something like 'Character Counts Week' on Friday the 13th of October.

Do you think it was deliberate on Bush's part? Or was it some staffer's idea of a joke?

Katrina was America's Chernobyl.

To paraphrase Forrest Gump, going to the White House web site is like a box of chocolates… you never know what you're gonna get. It may be some hilarious prevarication by press secretary Tony Snow or it may be the usual verbal bumbling or outright lies by George W. Bush in one of his speeches. But one place that's always sure to give you a you-can't-make-this-stuff-up moment, is going to the section giving Bush's presidential proclamations.

Snow recently admitted at a roast that he has the "worst job in the world" because he has to come out and make people believe all this nonsense. He KNOWS what he's saying are lies and untruths and he's such a whore he just keeps on talking. What a piece of garbage.
