Wouldn't it be a damned shame if that "brave public servant" ended up getting hit by an 18-wheeler during a traffic stop?

It would be just like someone like that to delay the flow of commerce by making it necessary to clean and repair a truck in to process of making money for a corporation in order to help them and the government be strong enough to conduct normal animal husbandry as they tend to their flock of humans once called citizens and owners of this country. /sarcasm
Trains used to have cattle-catchers mounted to the front of them. Maybe we could come up with pig-catcher for the trucking industry.

ArtNum=38227&Disp=89#C89 I myself have been arrested for doing 'cop watch' in Eugene and had a pig by the name of Larry Crompton blow in my ear to try to get me to break from the modality of passive resistance Lauren Canario uses in her arrest. Not to mention hopefully accrue a charge of resisting arrest on top of trespassing for unknowingly walking on the part of the sidewalk that belonged to a business in the course of being an observer of a sweep of 'vagrants' just before parent's week at the University of Oregon. This stuff makes me livid with anger. I read the comments in youtube. com concerning this woman's arrest calling her a foul trespasser and it truly pisses me off. Patrick Henry said; "Give me Liberty, or give me death," and people with the same feelings today are having people just as oppressed as they are saying, "Sure," and going after them because the system gives them chump change to be the whores of oppression and lets them wear guns and really neat little badges too. She is a trespasser and the government that steals this land to award it to capital investment projects aren't? We have some people in this country with really screwed up priorities and are ignorant dupes as they enable this once proud, free country's slide into fascism.
They'll change their tune when it is THEIR property being seized. Of course; that will NEVER happen.
I love the look of dazed outrage when a smug enabler becomes a victim of the same oppression they had been lauding. Of course one must welcome the convert into the ranks of those getting the religion concerning the new American Fascism, but you are not human if you can't enjoy an, "I told you so" every now and then.

They do, sort of. Trucks up north have tubular bumbers on the front of the tractor since there are so many accidents with deer. It keeps these flimsy fiberglass hoods on the tractors from crumbling.

First, you need to lose the notion that you actually can own property. You can have a house and lands paid off, and the second you don't pay your property taxes, it can be seized, and taken from you. Your car, if your tags aren't up to date, can be towed, impounded and auctioned off. Your bank accounts, on a whim can be seized, all your assets forfeited. The idea that you as a citizen, a private individual have any rights what so ever, is an illusion. Sorry Mike, but we're all serfs and slaves.

Agreed. A down on his luck friend of mine had his car towed for "storage on the street" and couldn't pay the tow, ticket and daily 20 impound fee, so they converted the title, an insider bought the car for a dollar, and the approximately 1000 dollar cost and fee tab was put on his credit report. The process server never found him, but he has lost his car and his credit rating is again in the toilet. In fact, as he gets his mail at my office the oinker came here looking for him. I said "I think you'd better leave." and did the rhetorical merry go round with the oinker. I also told him he was fat as the average jailer at the Lane County Jail, and asked him how it felt to be so big they'd have to do his portrait in 1/24th scale to fit it on the broad side of a barn. I don't think he likes me much.

As I ride my bicycle everywhere and dress counterculturish I occasionally have a young one stop me. They always want me to sit on the curb. I always say kiss my ass, call your sergeant. They always get angry and call in back-up saying a 'perp' who IDs himself as an Earth First! terrorist is causing problems. (I say that too, you get such nice red little faces and hyperventilation out of that line.) As all the older cops know me, the supervisor gets out of his car and says, "Hello Mike, how are you today?" They tell the youngster I am non-violent and a wise ass and to leave me be. It is great fun, but something I'd never do where I am not well known. Ah, the perks of home turf. ;-D

The second sentence is the key to the reason of truth for the first sentence.. Look at this legal scenario. If I give a note to my son to take to the grocery store that says "Greg, please let Bobbie have a gallon of milk and a loaf of bread, and I'll pay you next time I'm in the store. Joe Sixpack"; and Greg does it - legally, who is the owner of the milk and bread while Bobbie is on the way home with it? The answer (and it will hold up in any court in America) is ME, because I am the ISSUER of the note!!!! Greg is no longer the legal owner, because he agreed to take the note on it's terms. Bobbie is not the owner, he is merely the agent for me - the note issuer. When you "pay" for something, you use Federal Reserve Notes - a debt NOTE issued by the Federal Reserve... LEGALLY, you are nothing more than an agent for the Federal Reserve, and the purchase actually belongs to them!!! They will allow you use of THIER property, so long as you pay "rent" (via property taxes), but have no problem reclaiming THIER property the moment you become delinquent.

That was my thought too. There is no such thing as real property ownership in this country anymore.

I think the tactics BushCheneyInc use to keep their power is very effective. They send messages in the language public officials understand. For example, there was no clearer message than when Paul Wellstone and family were murdered when Wellstone showed forceful opposition to the Iraq war. This is the effective kind of tactic that BushCheneyInc prove works. Perhaps the good people of Connecticut need to learn a new language.

Food for thought: WHO OWNS THE PARK? Original position paper of the park's people by F. Bardauke (People's Park, Berkeley, Ca.) Someday an petty official will appear with a piece of paper. called a land title, which states that the University of California owns the land of the People's Park. Where did that piece of paper come from? What is it worth? A long time ago the Costanoan Indians lived in the area now called Berkeley. They had no concept of land ownership. They believed that the land was under the care and guardianship of the people who used it and lived on it. Catholic missionaries took the land away from the Indians. No agreements wee made. The Americans were not fooled by the papers. They had a stronger army than the Mexicans. They beat them in a war that took the land. Then they wrote some papers of their own and forced the Mexicans to sign them. The American Government sold the land to some white settlers. The Government gave the settlers a piece of paper called a title in exchange for some money. All this time there were still some Indians around who claimed the land. The American army killed most of them. The piece of paper saying who owned the land was passed around among rich white men. Sometimes the white men were interested in taking care of the land. Usually they were just interested in making money. Finally some very rich men, who run the University of California, bought the land. Immediately these men destroyed the houses that had been built on the land.The land went the way of so much other land in America - it became a parking lot. We are building a park on the land. We will take care of it and guard it, in the spirit of the Costanoan Indians. When the University of California comes along with it's land tile we will tell them: "Your title is covered in blood. We won't touch it. You people ripped off the land from the Indians a long time ago. If you want it back now, you will have to fight for it again. Note: People's Park is still there.

Yes, unfortunately it is a pissed on and crapped on environment where the homeless and druggies spend their days and no person in their right mind would call it much of a "park". However, it is a piece of open space and we can celebrate that very small fact.

The gist of this is that when you use the slave owner's note to purchase (You can never "pay" for anything since there is no lawful money of account, but only discharge the debt as per "public policy".), the slave owner still holds an interest in the property. We merely have possession and use. We have a court case which states that even though a debt is discharged, it still maintains a legal character, though not of the same quality as one which has not been discharged. In other words, they can come back at you again later to collect on it. This means that unless you are the best record keeper in the world, that traffic ticket you paid 20 years ago may still come back to haunt you. I know of an instance where this happened. Luckily, this guy NEVER threw away his cancelled checks and he slam-dunked the collection outfit which was trying to scam him for a duplicate payment. There is something called the bankers "paramount lien" on which there was a book out. I never was able to pick it up. But the idea is that since all of the money in the world is debt-based, the bankers own everything by virtue of this paramount lien.

Too many of any creature crowded too close together creates just that sort of environment. I know I used to love Telegraph Avenue and many of the joints there where you could sit for hours talking to your friends. Now they are all owned by immigrants that want you out of there after you eat and are ruthless about enforcing that. I don't like going to the Bay Area, everything is high drama, tension, and expensive. Why, the toll on the Bay Bridge alone blew my mind when I was down there recently .

We went out a few days ago to serve a Habeas Corpus on a sheriff in a rural county out here. I had my friend go in, who was an older local man and was well known. The sheriff told him he did not want to get in the middle of this. He told the sheriff he already was. The sheriff refused service and he was told a refusal is still service. The sheriff told the older man, "Tell that lawyer to come in here. Is that him out in the truck?" (meaning me) My friend told the sheriff, "I never said he was a lawyer," and walked out. I told him later that I would have called the SOB a terrorist to his face for refusing service and that is why I wanted him to go in to serve him. It would have done no good for two of us to be locked up in that filthy hole they called the county jail. There are some fireworks scheduled for this incident at a date still to be announced. BTW, my friend who was in jail had his county sheriff call the one who arrested him. He was told he has made a big mistake and he will wish he had not stirred up this hornets nest. ;0)

Yeah, I visited recently and it has really deteriorated. Too much materialism, less free love.
