Do YOU Want To Win the War in Iraq?

Apparently, Cheney's wife asked the Blitz (a CNN talking head) whether he wanted the US to 'win the war' in Iraq.

Firstly, there is no war in Iraq that's 'our war'. There is maybe a civil war caused by the Bush-ordered invasion and his experiments with make-believe dee-mock-rah-see but there is no US-Iraq war. Can 'we' win other country's civil war? I don't think so. Neither the local Sunnis nor the Shias are our enemies but we are theirs only because Bush sent our troops there to destroy their country and they are trying to expel us.

Now, that yous answered the question, and if you answered 'yes', please define 'victory' and explain why would 'victory' be desirable. What would be the fruits of our 'victory'? What is it that would make it worth the lives of 5000 or 10000 Americans and one trillion dollars or more?

My answer to the 'do you want 'us' to win?' stupid question is a loud and clear NO!!!

Going to Iraq was a stupid and criminal thing to begin with. Staying 'the course' in Iraq only makes it worse every day while more Americans are killed and more resources are wasted.

Can we possibly 'lose' in Iraq, if 'we' don't win? Not at all. We simply go home and maybe mind our business for a change. Bush and his Neocon handlers would definitely lose and maybe Israel if we bring our boys back home but America is not Bush and America is definitely not the Neofreaks or their beloved Israel.

By the way, if we go home no one would think that Iraq 'won'. What kind of victory would that be after we turned their country to rubble, killed their people by the hundreds of thousands and turned them against each other to a degree that a unified Iraq may not be possible ever again. These are the fruits of our 'victories' so far. 'Staying the course' brought nothing but death, ruin, misery and desperation to the people of Iraq.

Again: I DO NOT WISH US TO WIN IN IRAQ! I want our boys back home... 4 years ago and I want to see that justice brought to Bush and those who control him.

What she means is "Do you want the America to colonize Iraq and extract their wealth for the benefit of Bushco and Lukid party of Israel". "And your kids get to die for that and we'll call it patroitism"

According to CNN, the O'Reiley head and Cheney's wife's husband are asking the same question at various venues. Apparently, this is a very powerful message that would blow wind into the GOP's sails of electoral victory.

The war was over after the Iraqi army was disbanded. Since then it's been an occupation, and you can't "win" one of those.

And really, was beating the Iraqi army a great moment in military history? Maybe if two Iraqis had uniforms that matched and if they had eaten three days out of five. I mean come on, 16 years ago the airforce gave them the twisted version of Noah's Ark by making it rain TNT for 40 days and 40 nights...like they ever recovered from that.

"First I'm gonna bother everybody I meet, and then I'll probably go home and get drunk."

Isn't it funny?

The BIG STRUGGLE in Iraq now, is the actual REBUILDING of the Iraq Army. So, LOSING would be failure to rebuild the army 'we' previously defeated in like 20 minutes. And victory would be spending another trillion so that Iraq had again an army we can come and beat later?

Can it get more absurd than this?

Lynne Cheney, wife of Vice President Dick Cheney strongly criticized CNN Friday for its "Broken Government" series of specials in the run-up to the November mid-term elections and for its airing of tapes of snipers shooting American soldiers in Iraq.

In an interview with Situation Room anchor Wolf Blitzer, Cheney said the network Vote 2006 specials contained "terrible distortions of the president's and vice president's positions on many issues."

She suggested CNN was working from Democratic talking points, and took issue with the negative tone of the titl"Broken Government," suggesting it betrayed CNN's bias and countering that the administration had inherited a recession, been through some tough times like 9/11 and Katrina, but that the economy was healthy. "That's not broken" she said, "this government has acted very well... I shouldn't let media bias surprise me, but I worked for CNN onc[with Crossfire, according to Blitzer], and I was troubled.

Blitzer said the series was "probably" meant to be provocative, "to get people to think, to get people to discuss these issues."

Cheney turned the tables on Blitzer, becoming the questioner: "what is CNN doing running tapes of terrorists shooting Americans," she asked more than once, repeating a question CNN had been asked: "Do you want us to win?"

"The answer is, of course, we want the United States to win," said Blitzer. "We are Americans." Blitzer said airing the footage was not terrorist propaganda but "reporting the news. This is what we do... We make no apologies for showing it."

Later in the newscast, Lou Dobbs defended the "Broken Borders" series, saying that with all due respect, the government was broken in many respects and that he had been critical of Republicans and Democrats. He called Cheney's criticisms "power bridling at truth."

Cheney also complained that she wanted to talk about her children's book, Our 50 States, but had spent about 10 of the 15 alloted minutes for the interview responding to questions about her husband's comments about tactics used to question detainees and the citing of some passages of a book she wrote by Democratic Virginia Senate candidate Jim Webb in defending some racy passages in his books. She said Webb was "full of baloney."

Making lemons out of lemonade, CNN heavily teased the interview and Cheney's anger with the network for the first hour and a half of Situation Room.

Wolf Blitzer: I am too a Patriot

le_wolf-lynne.jpg Wolf Blitzer fired back at Lynne Cheney after a very weird interview he did with her on Friday. Instead of Lynne answering the question about her husband's take on torture, she went into the usual "attack the messenger" conservative protocol and attacked Wolf and CNN as being biased.

Video-WMP Video-QT

BLITZER: On Friday in the Situation Room on CNN, I interviewed the wife of the Vice President, Lynne Cheney. The interview generated quite a bit of commotion and we are going to replay the unedited version. First, some history. I have been covering the Cheneys for many years, including on a day-to-day basis when he was the defense secretary during the first Gulf War and I was CNN’s Pentagon correspondent. This — Mrs. Cheney has been a frequent guest on my programs. IN recent years I've often invited her to discuss her new children’s books, but she's always open to discussing the news of the day.

In this most recent interview, she, of course, knew we would be speaking about politics. That was reaffirmed to her staff only hours before the interview. As a former co-host of CNN's Crossfire during the 1990s, she knows her way around the media. She was never shy in sparring with Democratic strategist Bob Beckel and co-host.

I was surprised when she came out swinging on Friday, surprised by what she said about CNN's “Broken Government” series and the excellent one-hour report by our chief national correspondent John King. One of the most precise and respected journalists in Washington. At CNN's decision to air sniper video provided to our intrepid Baghdad correspondent Michael Ware by insurgents in Iraq which Anderson Cooper specifically branded, I’m quoting now, “a single propaganda tape.” Surprised at her sniping at my patriotism.

The US government is not broken. The government is bigger and more powerful than ever. It's the nation or the people who live in the country that are broken in more ways than one.

It's all a matter of perspective. It's certainly broken as far as the people are concerned. But, it's alive and well and growing like an evil monster for the evil ones who want a USSR govt over here.
