If more than 1/3 of the senators had been up for re-election a bunch more of them would have undoubtedly been thrown out too.
Bush is head of the executive branch of gov't. He has all the tools he needs to get rid of the illegal aliens. Bush DOESN'T need Congress to enforce the law. Bush handed Congress a surrender package to debate and they agreed to debate it when they should have told him to either enforce the laws that were already on the books or face impeachment.
If you're looking for someone to blame, look in the mirror. Los Angeles County was 50% Mexican in 2004 and you didn't even know we had a problem until Jackalope Breeder showed up and told you so. Then you went ahead and voted for Bush anyway.
