Hey all! I could use some advice. As some of you know, I have been fighting some health issues for quite some time. I have been to more doctors and specialists then my memory can hold and take so many pills that I am called the Department Pharmacy at work.

I have come to you - oh great and all knowing people of healthy stuff, for advice. Zip and Chris know that I have a few permanent conditions that I don't want to share, but I have some really odd non-related stuff as well.

1. The corners of my mouth crack and bleed for no reason. My son says it scares him because he is afraid that it means that my mouth is getting bigger. Anyways, I have seen multiple causes for this - but no real cures. Are there any vitamins that I should be taking to help at least prevent this?

2. I have NO energy, I am nearly always half asleep no matter how much I drink cofee.

3. I have no apetite. A few of my meds cause this - but is there something out there that I can take to stimulate my apetite?

4. My immune system sucks eggs - this is due to a few meds too - but is there anything *natural* that I should take to try to boost it?

And on a side note - pay no attention to Zip when she starts yelling at me to go to the doctor - I hate going to the doctors.

;0)

Thanks for any ideas you offer!

...or felt your jaw drop as you watched a Lipizzan perform a capriole... or if you've ever seen someone in the grocery store wearing a certain kind of hat or boots or buckle, or have a certain cut and length to their jeans... and felt some remote kind of connection... or felt warmed by a soft-nicker greeting you as you entered the barn... If you've ever been moved by any of these feelings, then you've seen the awesome power of God's creations.

Part of a wonderful tribute - thanks.

We were fortunate to see a Lipizzaner's practice session while in Vienna - I believe it was even more amazing than watching one of their touring shows because you could see all ages, and all stages, of what they go through to achieve the perfection that they take on the road.

Cutting and roping quarter horses, Tennessee Walkers, Arabians, and the American thoroughbred are my "favorites."

No, I wouldn't want to put pics of my horses on the web.. I don't want Homeland Security to be able to identify my getaway vehicle...

I feel very lucky that I made it long enough to slow my ass down - besides, I have no desire to make any new cop-type acquaintances while on the road. I've had the MGB, BMW, Mercedes SL and other rigs that could have been my demise, back when. Now, my pick-up gets me where I need to be in a timely enough manner.

For some odd reason, there is NO ACCESS to any establishment selling nutritional/healthy FOOD in East Tennessee. No wonder the medical cartel rules this area with an iron fist.

One thing I learned way back from my HomeEc teacher mom, was that if you want some product stocked in a store, go to the manager and ask for it. Here in Austin, the "organic" sections of the groceries seem to be growing daily as more people are learning of the crap that's in many of our food-stuff, and are willing to pay a bit more for better quality product.

Few people realize just how amazing the feats those magnificent beauties perform really are. They make it look so simple and natural in their "road shows".

If cost were no object, it would be a lot easier for me to name the very few breeds I wouldn't care about owning, rather than the ones I would.. I'd love to have a Cleveland Bay, Friesan, Salerno, and of course a Shire... BTW, the largest horse ever on record was a Shire named Samson - he measured 21.2 hh, and weighed 3360 lbs!!!

do you do these essential oils orally?

I use the lavender for surface wounds.

I use the peppermint, a drop in a glass of water, if I have a queasy stomach.

The lemon I mostly use for cleaning all kinds of things -- a drop in the dishwater, bath, cleaning furnitive.

A little of all of them go a long way.

Somebody here mentioned something about parasites, but I'm not going through 134 posts to find out who.

Best thing for that, probably, is wormwood.

DO NOT USE THE ESSENTIAL OIL. It's poisonous, not to mention unbearably bitter.

Tea's fine. Just type "wormwood parasites" into Google and you'll get all kinds of info.

Hi Cappy! I read an article about the sides of the mouth being cracked and/or chapped, and they say this is often caused by too much yeast in the system. Yeast can also make a person feel very tired, and some people, especially if their immune system is not up to par can have this condition. Most people associate yeast with vaginal yeast infections, but men can have this condition too, often it will reside in the intestines and other parts of the body.

You can buy those healthy bacterias (can't think of what they are called now) that are healthy for the gut and keep yeast in check. In Europe they used to sell small bottles of this in their grocery stores, and I'm sure you can find it in health food stores near where you live. They sell it in pill form, but the liquid form works better as the bacteria survive longer in liquid.

I just saw this thread and have not read it yet, perhaps someone else has already written about this, but it wouldn't hurt to buy some of this stuff and see if it does not help clear up the problem.

This might sound gross, but you could also buy over the counter yeast infection cream and put dabs of it on the sides of your mouth before going to bed, and that would most likely help clear up the cracking at the sides of the mouth.

I am often tired too, and will have to start working full time soon. It's tough to always feel tired, and have to deal with a family and a job, that in itself is enough to wear a person out. Good luck to you, I am sure there will be many helpful hints in this thread, maybe I'll run across some info on fatigue as I need to increase my energy level as well.

yeast

Probiotics is the remedy for yeast infections. There are many good products.

The idea is to populate your gut with the good bacteria. These bacteria then keep the bad bacteria, such as Candida, under control. But you have to keep up with it since our diets do not give us what we need to keep the good bacteria thriving. Also, taking drugs and antibiotics will kill the good bacteria and allow the yeast to take hold.

#155. To: CAPPSMADNESS, all women here (#2)

Another thing, I don't know how old you are, though it seems I've heard you're one of the babies here.

It's now known that when women reach their late 30s (don't know if you are there yet), their bodies don't produce as much progesterone as they once did. This can cause fatigue, PMS, insomnia, grouchiness, and weight gain. Many women in their 40s are affected by this, and they now have bio-identical natural progesterone cream that you simply rub on your skin (anywhere on your body where there is thin skin) and it soaks in and helps to relieve some of those symptoms.

This past year I started having problems with insomnia, and occasional bad moods and such, and I found a pharmacy in Anchorage that has bio-identical hormones that they compound, so you know the stuff is fresh and an exact dose. I started using their progesterone cream and it has helped somewhat with the insomnia and other things. They now make bio-identical estrogen too, but most women don't need that until after menopause, and many women decide they don't want to use any hormones.

You can buy progesterone cream over the counter, they probably have that at health food stores also. Some brands are better than others, many are just as good as the natural bio-identical progesterone compounded at pharmacies.

The pharmaceutical hormones, such as progestin and premarin are not natural to our bodies, and many women can't take those as they cause too many unwanted side effects. For instance I was never able to take birth control pills. In order for the pharmaceutical companies to make a profit on women's hormones, they have to change the molecular structure somewhat in order to have a patent. The big pharms don't like compounding pharmacies as they make natural hormones which women's bodies soak right up and use correctly, because they are a competition to their adulterated hormones which aren't as good since they tend to have the side effects.

However the natural progesterone has no bad side effects, is easy to use and is also amazingly cheap. There is information on the internet about this, along with brands that are good, the progesterone has to be in a cream that makes it absorb in the body, and the expiration date is very short, so these are important factors when choosing a brand to use.

I've got blond hair and blue eyes, and the last time I saw the doctor (in the winter) he tested the Vitamin D in my blood and told me I had only half what I should have. He told me to take cod liver oil during the winter. So I did, and the change in how I feel during the winter has been very noticeable.

There's very little sun here now and many people in this area don't have enough vitamin D. I know they sell vitamin D pills, but I wonder if it's best to take it in the form of cod liver oil??

It's the quickest and least-tasty way.

Otherwise, fish like salmon is the best. I use cod liver oil in the winter, as much as I hate it, but in the summer I get 20 minutes of sun a day and eat fish.

Already with the new VIBE 2.0 I strongly agree with others that the flavor is much better when it is added to water or a juice.
