Mark Foley has interrupted his stay at an Arizona rehabilitation facility to return to West Palm Beach, Fla., to attend private funeral services for his 85-year-old father, who had been ill with cancer. Foley also faces possible state criminal charges in Florida as a result of an ongoing investigation by the Florida Department of Law Enforcement, ABC News has learned. "The Florida Department of Law Enforcement is conducting an active criminal investigation into incidents, which may have occurred in Florida with regards to inappropriate communications between Mr. Foley and former House pages," a spokesperson told ABC News today. The Florida state criminal investigation was initiated at the request of Governor Jeb Bush on Sept. 30, the day Foley resigned from Congress, following the revelation of sexually explicit e-mails between Foley and underage congressional pages. While state law enforcement agents have been assisting the FBI with the federal inquiry into Foley's conduct, the Florida Department of Law Enforcement is conducting its own separate criminal investigation as well, a spokesperson confirmed to ABC News today. The Palm Beach Post newspaper first reported that Foley had returned to Florida on Wednesday to attend his father's funeral. WPTV, an NBC affiliate in West Palm Beach, published a photo of Foley leaving the home of friends. Foley's attorney David Roth did not return phone calls from reporters, but issued a statement requesting the media permit the family to grieve privately.

I don't see any use beating a dead horse. I'm sorry his father passed on at the ripe old age of 85.
There is no room to doubt this man has engaged in unacceptable conduct in how he flirted with teenagers and more then likely engaged in sexual activity with them, He has violated the trust of his constituents as well as been the most base of predators. Frankly the alcoholism and previous molestation charges are just as they appear, distractions that insult the popular intelligence. I also wish Mr. Foley peace in his time of sorrow, though this should not be confused with approving of his conduct.
No one approves of his conduct besides the NAMBLA crowd.
