Eyewitnesses reported that it appeared that the American columns were coming up from southern Iraq.

Tanks, armored vehicles, trucks hauling artillery pieces, Humvees (some armor plated), in all a force of more than 200 vehicles was on its way into al-Anbar Province at that hour. The correspondent reported that 15 minutes earlier the slow-moving columns had passed through the Abu Munaysir area of Abu Ghurayb. All regular traffic on the highway west from Baghdad into Anbar Province had been shut down at the time of the reporting.

Bomb Reportedly Kills Three US Marines, Badly Injures Fourth In Hit

A bomb exploded by a US military vehicle on as-Sakalat street in the middle of Hit, about 165km northwest of Baghdad on Friday morning according to a report from Mafkarat al-Islam.

A source in the local puppet police who asked not to be identified was quoted as saying that the Resistance had packed a bomb in a cooking gas cylinder that was then left with other cooking gas cylinders for sale in black market shops on as-Sakalat Street, which is mainly an area where construction materials are sold. The disguised bomb went off by a US Humvee, destroying it completely and killing three US Marines. A fourth Marine was found lying 10 meters (30 feet) away from the scene of the blast. He was alive but both his legs had been blown off and he had suffered other wounds in his body. Local witnesses believed he could not survive longer than a few hours.

The correspondent reported that the bodies of the dead Americans were strewn about the area. Witnesses said that a strong odor of grilled human flesh pervading the area following the explosion and was noticeable as far away as the Old Garage area. That was one indication of the strength of the explosion that sent burned body parts flying over a large area. http://jihadunspun.com is a decoy western intelligence site,

Yes, I am aware of the controversy.

I don't see too much merit in the idea for Unspun, vs western intelligence, but I look upon just about all sites as being potentially infected by, shall we say, "biased interested parties".

Monitoring the web is cheap, and intrinsically screens it's self to the 3% who might just make a difference if they stumbled onto the truth. So, in my view, intelligence would be crazy not to try to engage folks on 4um on charged issues, such as the immoral destructive occupation in Iraq.

Informed folks, as 4umers generally are, command alot of respect with the rest of the population and can change opinions. We are sitting ducks for the propagandists. It's really only to be expected.
