Our shop got robbed yesterday at 9:13 pm. A small amount of money was lost ($800) from the cash register.

Four young black males rushed into our store, two with two drawn semiauto pistols pointing at the head of our clerk, Steve.

He was fooling around on the net (as I do when I can), and was a few feet away from the Panic Button that dials the Alarm company, and then they call the cops. They told him to "freeze" and he did so, thank God.

They really were looking for the keys to the safe in the back, but after three minutes, gave it up and left - leaving our store in shambles. Took the money in the register, that they could have made themselves doing an honest days wages.

The real money was, ten minutes before, locked up in a safe in a steel door that no one outside of a demolition expert is getting into quickly. And these guys were not experts in anything but imitating Hollywood gangsters

Bashed our stearo system, thinking it was a survaillance recorder, and ripped down several fake cameras placed in obvious view, as well as our phone system.

The real miniature camers they missed, and I am going to do my best to post this riviting video of these %*&^%(&^%(&^% for all to see.

It is disturbing and violent.

KKTV(CBS) (clorado Springs) came out today and aired the robbery tonight, along with a small interview with me. And the Gazette will have a article in the paper tomorrow.

It really has been a stressfull day - lots of other things have gone wrong cause of this.

I would raise a glass of wine if all four of these humans were to be killed tomorrow. And I am not happy or quick to say something like this.

When you see the video, most, all?, will agree. That's what I think.

Will be Monday or so before this happens.

They got your Dan Wesson, eh? Sorry to hear that. That's a nice piece to be losing.

Yes is is. This disturbes me more than anything else about the loss. The money I would almost never miss. We live a modest lifestyle, and earn a fairly good income.

The idea of this powerful handgun getting into the hands of scoioapathic criminals does not set well with me at all. The cartrides in the pistol were powerful. But they already had, I guess, Powerfull handguns.

The whole incident makes me sick.

Yep. Nineteen years in the biz with no violence till the last ten months. Some might think hurricane refugees could be an explination. And it may be.

That's interesting. That makes you an indirectly hit by Katrina.

This is just horrible to read about. Are the other local stores having similar problems? I'm curious, what are the best security measures? Flood lights and cameras? Being armed and prepared to shoot? A good alarm system? All of the above?

Yes another Liquor was robbed by the same group last night. And we heard that they had hit a store before ours. And that's just what we heard about, the dectectives seem to be deliberately vague.

We are armed and prepared to shoot, but two men burst in pointing semi auto pistols at the clerk - best to comply.

I'd say all of the above. And cash management procedures - getting cash out of the register that you won't need. We got lucky - our clerk took about ten thousand out of the lock box (which the robbers got into easily) and put it into the safe in the lock room twenty minutes before the attack.

Note that the creeps threw a VCR on the floor and yanked a fake security camera out of the wall as well as ripping the telephone lines out.

Our little story was on KKTV news three times yesterday.

We are likely to install an electronicly controlled door lock system for a lone clerk to allow access to the store if he likes the way they look. IOW guys with bandanas over their faces wouldn't pass the test.

Here's the CSPD blotter report:

Incident Date November 30, 2006 Time 9:23:00 PM Division Falcon Shift II Title Robbery Location 3519 North El Paso Street Summary On 11/30/2006, Officers from the Falcon Division responded to 3519 North El Paso Street, Bob’s Liquors, to investigate a possible robbery. Upon arrival officers found the store had been robbed at gunpoint by four or five black males all wearing ski masks. The weapons used were described as silver or black handguns. The business was trashed during the robbery in which cash and liquor were taken. A “Dan Wesson” .357 revolver with a six inch barrel was also taken during the robbery. There was a delay in the report of the robbery due to the fact that the suspects ripped the phone out of the wall and the reporting party had to run to his home and call the police. Adults Arrested Media Contact Name and Phone Number: Lt. Ritz 444-7240
