Mary Cheney, the openly gay daughter of Vice President Dick Cheney and his wife, Lynne, is pregnant.

Mary Cheney, 37, and her partner of 15 years, Heather Poe, 45, are expecting a baby, said Lea Anne McBride, a spokeswoman for the vice president. The baby is due in late spring.

"The vice president and Mrs. Cheney are looking forward with eager anticipation to the arrival of their sixth granddaughter," McBride said.

The vice president's other, older daughter, Elizabeth Cheney, is on leave as deputy assistant secretary of state after having her fifth child with her husband in July.

Mary Cheney was an aide to her father during the 2004 campaign, as was Elizabeth, and now is vice president for consumer advocacy at AOL.

McBride declined to elaborate on the circumstances of Mary Cheney's pregnancy. Mary Cheney and Poe moved from Colorado to Virginia a year ago to be closer to the Cheney family.

The Washington Post first reported the news in Wednesday's editions.

I read somewhere else that her 45-year-old "hubby" is the master of the strap-on and has such a technique that she can do with it what others have only dreamed of.

Obviously this must be true. The baby may not have any balls, though, even if it's male.

But will the proud parents be able to keep the child safe from grandpa and his friends?

Considering the high stats of lesbians who were molested as children, it's worrisome.

No need to. It's not child molestation when high ranking Republicans do it -- just ask IIAR.

It's not queer when Republicans do it.

New York Times story says the couple moved from Colorado to Virginia to be near Mary Cheney's parents.

Cheney's new mansion is on the Eastern Shore of Maryland. And the vice presidential residence in D.C. is closer to Maryland than to Virginia. Why on earth did they move to Virginia, which has a law depriving lesbian couples of rights, rather than to Maryland, which does not, and which may soon recognize gay marriage?

Really? Didn't know. Molested by women or men or did it matter?

Men, usually incest. These stats were once available, but in casually glancing over the web I see them difficult to find. I once read a study that said 90% of lesbians had been molested as children. Now, these studies are not so easy to find. In fact, one I found just now claims adults don't remember being molested. Yet another said they are more apt to end up in prison, be suicidal, become abusers, etc., etc.

Among homosexual men the percentage is much lower, like 30%. This link says it is higher:

http://www.thinkandask.com/news/gaypeds.html

As opposed to being "born gay," numerous studies reveal a disproportionate number of persons molested as children practice homosexuality as adults.

In the 1980s, Diana Shrier and Robert Johnson conducted a study showing men who were sexually abused as children were almost seven times more likely to identify themselves as homosexuals.

In another study, Dr. Gregory Dickson found in a random sample of men, an astonishing 49 percent of the homosexual population admitted to being sexually molested as a young child or adolescent boy, as opposed to 2 percent of the heterosexual population.

It is a sad fact that homosexual men were targeted disproportionately as young children, but even sadder that a disproportionate number of homosexual men, as adults, target young children.

A study published in the Journal of Sex Research revealed while homosexuals only account for roughly 3 to 4 percent of the entire population, homosexuals commit about one-third of the total number of child sex offenses. Other studies show similar findings.

This disturbing trend is completely whitewashed by our society because it is politically incorrect to associate homosexuality with negative behavior.
