Rummy's formal departure ceremoney was held today at the Pentagon. I thought it might be interesting to take a stroll down Freeperville lane, to better days- when Freepers were in awe of his manly man stink:

You know- as bad as El Pee is- the BOTS there are at least partially exposed to truth. Freakerville is a sad sad world at this point. They, like their Dear Leader, dwell in a fairy land, and the MODS work very hard to keep reality out.

when Freepers were in awe of his manly man stink:

Oy vey! They are too funny. There's comments there like we used to toss out at the punks in the crowd when we were working the concert security gig.

"It is the old practice of despots to use a part of the people to keep the rest in order; and those who have once got an ascendency and possessed themselves of all the resources of the nation, their revenues and offices, have immense means for retaining their advantages." It's absolutely hilarious rummaging through the archives and reading old threads on freakerville. The ones about the Saddam statue coming down are priceless! The "Mission accomplished" thread reads like parody. The "purple finger" threads! LOL.

And yet- slowly- they get ever more bizzarre and utterly idiotic. There was a thread in which they looked back at the Saddam Statue falling in 2003 a couple months ago- and the posters were like- "Yeah- what a great event- and now Iraq is better- and will be even better in the next three years- despite what the treason media says." They are saying this stuff in 2006!

Damn- that sort of willful ignorance takes effort!

Utterly freaking amazing. Now it seems the media is treasonous even though the media was banging the war drums as loud as the goobers were shouting to nuke Iraq.

Willful ignorance is a mild term. What they are committing is downright self-deception. But if all you ever watch is Rush, Hannity, Fox Snooze and others, is it any wonder?

How out of touch with reality are Freakers? How isolated? Freeperville is a place where one can find- without too much effort- posters complaining about the LIBERAL BIAS of Fox News.

Nuff said. Here we are- with everyone all but admitting Iraq is a disaster- with the Neocons openly calling it a debacle (while saying they had nothing to do with it and it is all Bush's fault) and yet Freepers are posting about how things are great in Iraq and that everything is better and but for a media conspiracy of traitors who "hate America" all is swell and going swimmingly. Frankly- this sort of self delusion, this sort of forced isolation of the mind from all information that doesn't come from the Party- is comparable only to Nazi deadenders in Berlin waiting for the wunder weapons to save the day and Wenk's non existent 9th army to "Break through" and save the day. The die hard freepers are ill.

Yeah, and Deadeye Dick was one of those behind it all. I wonder when he will resign? And what the reaction in Freakerville will be when he does.

I had a bit of a laugh over it all (though it was bittersweet) because I fully expected that when things went badly in Iraq, and continued to get worse with the passage of time, that the neocons would be the first to jump ship and leave Dumbya holding the bag. Bush would be even more befuddled only if he had a clue how he has been set up. Unfortunately for him, Poppy knows only too well and sent in the old guard to try to bail him out. We have yet to see if they will be successful. It seems that with further interference from neocons still entrenched in the administration there will not be anything accomplished except perhaps the saving of the patient while having to amputate the head. Tough way to go, but Junior deserves to be totally humiliated.
