President George W. Bush has an instant remedy for anything that ails this nation or his failed administration.

Go shopping.

In the days following the 9-11 terrorist attacks, Bush urged Americans to "go about their business as usual" and "go to the malls" to show they weren't afraid of terrorists.

On Wednesday, Bush stood once again before the American people and told them to stop worrying about his war debacle in Iraq and "go shopping."

Such statements, famed Boston newspaper columnist Mike Barnicle says, "borders on criminal."

Former Republican congressman and now TV host Chuck Scarborough said Wednesday night that Bush may be "delusional" because he obviously "has lost touch with reality."

Delusional? Lost touch with reality? Borders on criminal?

Not even close.

Bush is fucking nuts.

In an incredible display of public insanity, Bush talked on the one hand about how he may send more Americans to fight and die in his illegal Iraq war and said flatly that more will die in the coming months and years because he has no plans whatsoever to pull them out of the civil war that we created and cannot win.

Then he turns around and tells Americans to deal with all this by going shopping.

Bush's actions don't border on criminal. They are criminal. He's a lunatic with keys to the greatest nuclear arsenal in the world, a madman with heavy artillery, a nutcase with military might.

Two years ago, Dr. Justin Frank, a prominent psychiatrist at George Washington University, said Bush suffered "paranoid megalomania" and predicted the President's deteriorating mental condition would get worse.

"President Bush," Dr. Frank said, "exhibits a lifelong streak of sadism, ranging from childhood pranks (using firecrackers to explode frogs) to insulting journalists, gloating over state executions and pumping his fist gleefully before the bombing of Baghdad."

Bush's Greek Chorus dismissed Dr. Frank's diagnosis as hype to sell his book, Bush on the Couch: Inside the Mind of the President, but time and Bush's obviously increasing insanity proves a clinical psychiatrist with a national reputation knows a hell of a lot more about mental disease than a bunch of blustering Republican partisans.

Bush told the American people Wednesday that more Americans must die in Iraq because we must stay in the country to prove that we are determined.

Determined to do what? Pursue a failed war based on lies? Prove we can kill more Americans than the 9-11 terrorist attacks?

Bush claimed he feels real pain and sorrow over sending Americans to die in war.

Don't believe it. The man feels no pain or sorrow.

"Bush shows an inability to grieve -- dating back to age 7, when his sister died," Dr. Frank wrote in his book. "The family's reaction -- no funeral and no mourning -- set in motion his life-long pattern of turning away from pain [and hiding] behind antic behavior."

What we have are classic symptoms of insanity and a textbook example of a madman. This one, unfortunately, also happens to be President of the United States.

What the hell. I'm not going to worry about our nutcase President.

I'm going shopping. See you at the mall.

"Today, President Bush held a news conference where he discussed the “way forward” for the economy in 2007. Renowned Morgan Stanley economist Steven Roach says the the “odds of the U.S. economy tipping into recession are about 40 to 45 per cent.” New York Times columnist Paul Krugman notes that “the odds are very good — maybe 2 to 1,” that the U.S. will teeter toward a recession in 2007. Bush’s solution? “Go shopping more.”
