While I was watching this, I couldn't help but think of the beatdown both Stewart and Colbert gave Ramesh Ponnuru when he was promoting his new book, The Party of Death: The Democrats, the Media, the Courts, and the Disregard for Human Life. Since we never hosted Ponnuru's appearance on the Colbert Report, here it is in all its satirical glory: 
Colbert was in top form last night when conservative pundit Dinesh D'Souza came on the show to promote his new book, The Enemy At Home: The Cultural Left and Its Responsibility for 9/11. In his latest screed, D'Souza, according to Publishers Weekly's review, "roots the blame for the 9/11 attacks in the left wing's 'aggressive global campaign to undermine the traditional patriarchal family'." (emphasis mine) D'Souza's logical (and factual) inconsistencies are too numerous to list so have at it in comments.

Interesting side note... Dinesh D'Souza dated Ann Coulter and was engaged to marry Laura Ingraham.
It was hilarious the way Colbert used D'Souza's own book to show that D'Souza's argument was the same as bin Laden's -- that the decadent US deserved to get hit. D'Souza just sat there squirming after Colbert maneuvred him into that inescapable conclusion.
It was hilarious.. D'Souza was rendered speechless..

Since Islamic society is perhaps the most patriarchal society on Earth today- does D'Souza believe that the US war on Islam is "left wing"? It is funny to see the reichwinger Christians signing on to this anti Moslem war- run and thought up by Neowhores who think religion is only useful as far it serves the state as a control mechanism. Neowhores themselves think religious believers are one step above primates. As Christianity is undermined, perverted, and corrupted in this country- the bulk of "Christians" are busy supporting a war against ridiculous boogeymen Islamics. It is comical. They are supporting a war against other religious believers run by DC - a city state that despises them at heart. And they think the "antiwar" people are their enemy. So easily effing duped.
The sites that don't allow "comments" on 911 are too numerous. At the bottom of an article, a given site will ask for comments, but if the site doesn't agree, it will delete them. Now, its their site, they can do what they like, but don't ask for comments then censor them.

Colbert is one of the smartest funny guys alive. I don't really watch the Comedy Channel or any other channels but I am increasingly inclined to begin tuning into his show because he seems to do the best newsmaker interviews. It would also be interesting if C-Span could hire him to host their morning show.

that is incredible. I was thinking that his current wife must be something else to put up with him. Ideology is important to the marriage I see. D'Souza is some piece of work.
