We have come a long way, haven't we?

The media has declared Biden's candidacy over for calling a man clean and articulate.

Remember this?

Sex, Lies, and Audiotape The real issues behind Bill Clinton's Affair

By Al Giordano originally published on Feb. 13, 1992

Arkansas Gov. Bill Clinton has been the darling of the news media for some time now, ever since New York Gov. Mario Cuomo dropped out of the race. This writer doesn't give two Arkansas mudpies about who Billy Boy slept with, or sleeps with, and most voters agree. But in their effort to protect Clinton from the fallout of this tabloid expose, the daily press in this country has covered up the real issue behind the scandal.

Clinton has yet to be held responsible for the fact that he put his mistress on the state payroll, at taxpayer expense. The term "hush money" comes to mind. In order to keep Gennifer "Pookie" Flowers from spilling the spermicide jelly all over the broadsheets, Clinton got her a job, for which she was unqualified, on the Arkansas state payroll.

Now that she's come out from under the covers, the Clinton administration fired her. Sounds like a hush money deal to me.

There's another very serious issue that the press has largely censored: the content of audiotaped conversations between Clinton and his concubine. In Massachusetts and many states it's illegal to record a telephone conversation without the permission of all parties. But in Clinton's Arkansas, it's perfectly legal, and therefore a matter of public record. Too bad Clinton isn't more of a civil libertarian, or he would have passed such a law, thus protecting himself from Pookie's revenge.

Listen to this conversation between the presidential candidate and his gal pal:

Clinton: Most people think that except for [NY Gov. Mario] Cuomo I'm doing the best right now….I'm in a terrible disadvantage but…we're moving pretty well.

Flowers: I don't particularly care for Cuomo's demeanor.

Clinton: Boy, he is so aggressive.

Flowers: Well, he seems like he could get real mean.

Clinton: (garbled)…mean son of bitch.

Flowers: Yeah…I wouldn't be too surprised if he didn't have some mafioso major connections.

Clinton: Well, he acts like one (laughs)

That was exactly what I was referring to.

It just goes to show our President is selected, not elected.

I wonder who the puppet masters have selected to receive the nomination from their respective parties. They never leave it to chance.

M.E.R. Magazine's Brian Quig Columns from 1991 by Brian Quig

Brian Quig wrote in 1991:

Goldwater's Administrative Director Tom Dunlevy... was an insider at the [1980 GOP] convention... I will always remember the very words of Tom Dunlevy following my protest of the selection of George Bush for VP. They were etched into my mind. "We didn't like that either. It was a deal with the Devil. Henry Kissinger and Gerald Ford, present at the convention as agents of David Rockefeller, assured Reagan the presidency if he accepted Bush on the ticket. Otherwise Rockefeller would swing the election to Carter."

Cleon Skousen spoke with Reagan at the convention, both before and after the Bush decision, and related how Reagan told how Kissinger and Ford with the support of Walter Cronkite coerced him. According to Skousen these are Reagan's very words "They showed me the brush by which I would be tarred if I did not go along." After the election, when George Bush's top man, campaign manager James Baker, became Reagan's chief of staff -- the one person who controlled who saw the president -- the betrayal of conservatism was complete.

After Reagan was allegedly shot by John Hinckley, Jr. barely two months into his first term, this curious item turns up in the Associated Press March 31, 1981:

I'm long gone from that site - FR. I've burned my bridges long ago. I have fond memories of many nice folks I've met over the years. We don't agree any more about the politics thing, or the future path we're on. I'm not bitter about it, just disappointed.
