The really big difference between the Reichstag fire and 9/11 is how the alleged perps were treated. In Hitler's not yet fully Nazified Germany- the defendents in the case were arressted and held in civilian prison. They had access to lawyers and their case progressed rather smoothly to trial a few months after the fire. The trial was held in a normal German criminal court and the proceedings broadcast live over the radio (as Hitler expected a major propganda coup from the trial). Well the defendents made mince meat out of the Nazi case- implied that Hitler's minions did the deed themselves, and were acquited- enraging Hitler and propelling him to create a parrallel Nazi court system along side the established German courts.
In the case of the 8 9/11 "masterminds". They have been held in secret military prisons for 6 years without access to anyone but their captors. We know they have been tortured during this time and are more than likely psycological wrecks. Their "trial" won't be public, and it won't be in civilian run courts and it won't even be held in this country but on a military base in the Caribbean. The accussed have severly limited rights to even make a defense.

After the war historians found that the Nazis and Hitler probably did not have anything to do with the fire - just took advantage of it after the fact. Something the 9/11 truthers should think about.
