Wonder why O'Reilly is on a jihad about NBC networks? Other than Olbermann making him look like a fool on a nightly basis? Today in its closing arguments, Scooter "The Scoots" Libby's lawyers argued that Timmy "The Fatboy" Russert lied about what Libby told him because NBC is out to get George Bush and his administration. As you no doubt have heard, Bill O'Reilly has been on a tirade that NBC is conspiring against the Bush administration. His "proof" is hilarious, but he comes back to it night after night.
Suddenly, Libby's lawyers are using the same argument. It's amazing. Russert is famous mainly for tossing Bush softballs in every interview he has done with him. The one shortly before the 2000 election is a classic of ass-kissing, drooling admiration, and obvious set-ups (Tell us why you admire Winston Churchill so much.")
I think Fitzgerald should drag O'Reilly in front of a grand jury to explain why this ludicrous attack on NBC just HAPPENS to coincide with Cheney's buttboy's defense strategy. Anyone who doubts that Faux is a Bush operative should now just give it up. They get more and more shrill, making less and less sense.
O'Reilly's latest proof that NBC is biased against Republicans? A reporter the other day mentioned that Mitt Romney was in trouble with evangelicals because "he's a Mormon and he's flip-flopped on many social issues." That, it appears, is bias, even though Romney IS a Mormon and he HAS flip-flopped on many social issues, including abortion, stem cells, gay rights and many more.
It's time to shut Faux down, or have them admit every half hour that they are a wholly owned subsidiary of the RNC.
