Another terrific anti-war protest song by Common Thread. Excellent lyrics and musicianship!
More on Common Thread: Common Thread is a musical revelation that has evolved from the rural hillsides of Western Pa. Originating members Matt Horne and Ken Hatfield are cousins that have grown up together in a musical family which accounts for their tight playing abilities. Additional members Aaron Lemley (percussion) and Sean Coyne (bass) provide a driving force to the music unmatched by other Acoustic acts. Common Thread contains a raw energy and excitability reflected within their lyrical and melodic content.
Victory means exit strategy, and its important for the President to explain to us what the exit strategy is. ~George W. Bush (About the quote: Speaking on the war in Kosovo.)
This is a very nice folk song, by protest singer/ songwriter Yikes McGee.
More on Yikes McGee: Yikes is dedicated to fighting right-wing propaganda, and giving Bush the boot. Yikes has written several other excellent anti-Bush songs that you can also download in mp3 format from his web site. You can also find the lyrics posted there.

This is a very clever folk song that pokes fun at Geoge Bush's macho image by singer / songwriter / publisher Steve Zimmerman.
More on Steve Zimmerman: Steve performs in NYC area with his group: StevieZ and the Malcontents. Steve is also one of the founders of Booklinks Publishing Services. Please visit his website, Shock and Awe Records, where you can find several other anti-Bush songs listed for free download.

This is a blues/rock style protest song written by John McKay and preformed by the John McKay Band
About Greasy, Oily Freedom: I wrote Greasy, Oily Freedom last year when I was entering the poorist time in my life and Bush thought it was a good idea to go across the world and spend billions of dollars killing people so that's where the first line comes from: I sleep on the floor and watch the t.v. war and wonder what it's for - Iraqi freedom?
About the John McKay Band: The John McKay Band is an extremely talented group of musicians playing my songs (which I'd like to think are very good, aware creative tunes) We're opening for Leftover Salmon in a few weeks. Two of the guys have been touring with Dan Bern. The main reason we aren't well know is finances. Most people don't realize that to get a band to the masses you need lots of money. Maybe if I was on George's side and sent him a positive song promoting his side (won't ever happen) than I could get financing through his big fat rich cronies. I'd rather be unknown than look like shit through the eyes of the world. You can purchase a CD of their music by visiting their website.

I can't get the 1st link to work, but the 2nd one is clever.
"all the war dogs were let out of the cage"...
"this world gone crazy, it's an emergency".

This is the latest whacky song from comedian Brett Eidman (as Head Bob). This lively big band arranged/swing style song takes lots of good potshots at Bush.

"It's a bummer that my hummer isn't armored to a T"
Wonderful!!

Looking Forward to Your Fall (4.3 MB, running time: 4:42)
"Looking Forward to Your Fall" is a serious indictment of Bush by singer/songwriter Eric Anders, that hopefully predicts why Bush should fall. This is another exceptional song by Eric Anders. We are pleased to be able to offer this one to our viewers. Also check out Eric's "How Low and Why" and "So Wrong" that are listed on our Music pages.
More on Eric Anders: Performing Songwriter Magazine describes singer-songwriter Eric Anders' music as "touching on the trance-like ecstasy of David Gray and the deadly seriousness of Nick Drake.... Anders is as engaging a singer and musician as he is writer." You can find more information on Eric Anders and his music by visiting his web site and his blog.
Eric Anders CDs: This song is from Eric's most recent CD: Tethered to the Ground on Baggage Room Records [2006]. Eric has also released these full CDs: Not at One [2003] and More Regrets [2004]. All of his releases can be purchased at CD Baby including Tethered to the Ground.

oh my god, that was so painful to watch. thanks - I wish the whole country could be forced to see what we've let happen.
funny, from the first I saw this topic, this has been running through my head:
Come gather 'round people Wherever you roam And admit that the waters Around you have grown And accept it that soon You'll be drenched to the bone. If your time to you Is worth savin' Then you better start swimmin' Or you'll sink like a stone For the times they are a-changin'.
Come writers and critics Who prophesize with your pen And keep your eyes wide The chance won't come again And don't speak too soon For the wheel's still in spin And there's no tellin' who That it's namin'. For the loser now Will be later to win For the times they are a-changin'.
Come senators, congressmen Please heed the call Don't stand in the doorway Don't block up the hall For he that gets hurt Will be he who has stalled There's a battle outside And it is ragin'. It'll soon shake your windows And rattle your walls For the times they are a-changin'.
Come mothers and fathers Throughout the land And don't criticize What you can't understand Your sons and your daughters Are beyond your command Your old road is Rapidly agin'. Please get out of the new one If you can't lend your hand For the times they are a-changin'.
The line it is drawn The curse it is cast The slow one now Will later be fast As the present now Will later be past The order is Rapidly fadin'. And the first one now Will later be last For the times they are a-changin'.
Masters of War was from the early 60s, no? it still applies. on the other hand, the times, they are a'changin' seems archaic now. it's one of my favorite songs ever, but I just don't see a revolution building around here. maybe if everyone watched that Masters of War video... but they won't. we're doing a big favor for those damn ungrateful Iraqi people. oh my god, what has happened to us?
Amazing. And to think that it was Dick Cheney who caused all this furor.

That was the best line in that Faux News critique.
Victory means exit strategy, and its important for the President to explain to us what the exit strategy is. ~George W. Bush (About the quote: Speaking on the war in Kosovo.)
"We killed a lot of innocent civilians. To us every civilian in Baghdad was a terrorist. They said 'they are now in civilian clothes' that makes everybody free game, But if they came in our perimeter, we lit 'em up. And when we would pull the body out, and when we would search the car, we would find nothing. This took place time and time again. No harm, no foul, that's OK, don't worry about it, Because this is a new tyme of war, this is an eradication."
"I honestly feel we're committing genocide over here, I don't believe in killing civilians, and I'm not going to kill civilians for the United States Marine Corp."
