New Congress bill aimed at significantly increasing number of visas available for Israeli experts expected to be approved by July 2007 A new US Congress bill is aimed at significantly increasing the number of high-tech visas available for Israeli experts. Congressman Howard Berman, chairman of the Judiciary Subcommittee on Courts, said he expected the bill to be approved by July 2007. According to the bill, the global quota will increase from 65,000 today to 115,000. Attorney Liam Schwartz, who specializes in work permits for the United States, said that "this permit is crucial for the Israeli high-tech industry's ability to compete over the American markets against the rest of the world." The bill was supported by Microsoft Chairman Bill Gates, who sent a letter to the US Congress demanding that the quota be increased in order to reinforce the professional American workforce with high-tech people from across the world.

Something along those lines is my guess. Post next 9/11 cleanup crew? Or another pre 9/11 preparation crew? I'm sure they need to move fast next time. Time is short. Have you seen Smirk's poll #s? And all these friendly talks with Iran have him looking so miserable; Ricey cakes too. The recent attempts on Cheney are adding a sense of urgency to it all. That's my least cheerful outlook.
