There are 14 men who will face separate three-officer panels which will determine if they are enemy combatants. Among them is Khalid Sheik Mohammed, the alleged mastermind of the Sept. 11, 2001, aircraft attacks on New York and Washington, Washington Post said.
If judged as such, the men will be held and entitled to annual reviews of their status until they face trial, the Washington Post reported Wednesday.T he men appear with a U.S. government representative but not a lawyer.
There are now 385 detainees at the Guantanamo military prison, and about 80 have been cleared for transfer to other countries.
