For those of you who haven't noticed, I've been removing articles posted in Breaking news that are not news....and not even close to being news. They are someone's idea of a personal rant. And since it isn't news, I'm not going to relocate it...I'm going to REMOVE it. In the past, articles were posted in Breaking news that weren't. People got sanctioned or banned for doing that. Lately, SOME people just post any garbage they seem to have an obsession over, and even put in their own comments. That ends today. NOW. I'm not going to fight any of you over it. It's a lost cause. But I moderate this site, and I will ensure that NEWS is what is being posted. Anything that is NOT news is going to be PURGED. Got that? REMOVED. No warning. Exceptions are ONLY humor, Editorials, and Biker Bar. If it isn't news, it has no business even BEING here!!! This is a news forum. And for repeat offenders, you've been warned. When you keep doing it, and they keep getting removed...keep in mind I'm noting your names. When I have to remove too many posted by the same name ...your account will go as well. No additional warning. This is IT. So, for those of you with an axe to grind, or an idea you want to shove down our throats...over and over and over...this is your ONLY warning: Visit GoDaddy - Start your own website ... focus your obsession there. What a twat. Her breaking news policy – just prior to the war - was the reason I and many others bolted. As the countdown to Baghdad began in earnest, she imported caLOL and her harpies and they spammed the BN with everything from Michael Jackson updates to the progress of Ronald Reagan Alzheimer’s disease. This was done with the intent of driving anti-war BN down and eventually off the front page. She did nada when it fit her agenda, but apparently has a dual standard now. I’d rather write graffiti on a bathroom wall than post at that pit.
At the rate she's going, graffiti on a bathroom wall will soon be more highly regarded by its readers (and have more of them) than postings at LP.
And to have been there when you started it all...
Should I change my name to Canary-in-the-Coal-Mine? I always manage to be one of the first banned when a forum's moderation regime starts going south. Best forum hosts in the brief history of political forums on the Net: christine and Zipporah, hands down. Unlike Jim Rob, Goldi and Bret, somehow, they've managed to evade the forum/body snatchers... ...so far, that is. What's your secret, chrissy and Zip? Do you wear garlic around your neck 24/7 or something? LOL.

I have to concur. The decency here is amazing. I got abused in leftie sites (not to the level of http://boottothehead.com and LP and my very brief appearances at FR) and got sick of the nitpicking crap. This is a welcoming place where you can actually discuss issues. It's educational. I can listen to another perspective and judge myself, because it's not phrased as "believe this or you're a commie." My daughter is trying to jump from sophomore in high school to college, at a Great Books place called Shimer. We spent the weekend there and they actually had a poetry class for parents so we could see how a class runs there. After about five minutes, we were fighting to read the next poem and when the kids, who were off doing an essay contest for scholarships, came back, they kept them in the hall so we could continue the discussion. When you open things up, you open minds. I had never read this poem before, and it hit me like a ton of bricks. Here Dead Lie We Because We Did Not Choose Here dead we lie because we did not choose To live and shame the land from which we sprung. Life, to be sure, is nothing much to lose; But young men think it is, and we were young. A.E. Housman That was written after WWI, but it's even more applicable today.
