Not without a lot of help. It is often quoted by the official StateInc version that the towers became chimneys which stoked the fire as a refiner's forge does, and this is responsible for the high temperature. [And yet why did all of the glass not explode outward prior to the collapse? Must've been heat-proof glass.] I wonder if we have any blacksmiths here? As hot as the center of the Earth? The inner core is 7000 degrees Celsius [7300 K] according to physics. Is the StateInc telling me that the WTC at collapse was 7000 degrees Celsius and That is what melted cars 7 blocks away and the building itself, the result of a pyroclastic flow usually associated with volcanic eruptions? The higher the chimney, in this case 100 plus stories, the hotter the fire..when it has never happened before in the history of other famous high rise fires? Why would the very chimney itself not melt before such heat were attained? Does physics allow for the unrestricted exponential heating of steel and office materials to 7000 degrees Celsius [the outer region of the sun] without some mitigating limit..or without a nuclear reaction? Why would such heat not melt the outer and weaker portion of the steel first causing the face to melt off before the much thicker core goes? If the above is true, I need to go knock around my SMU geology and physics professors for lying to me for four years. If such a temperature were attained, it was instantaneous and man-made, not the result of time, oxygen and fuel. All in my honest opinion of course. P.S. Even if I believed this were the case...a refiner's forge causing high temps at the impact point and above...this would not explain FREEFALL. Heat goes up, not down...what melted the base of the core? Again, we have a strong case for manmade intervention.

I normally don't watch 911 videos because I have dialup and they take a long time to download, but I watched this one as I was curious. Around 1989 I had a friend who was getting a PhD, and he snuck me in the lab at his university one night to show me his project he was working on which was a high-energy laser beam which he demonstrated for me. It had incredible heat and a very high frequency, before he turned that thing on he had to set up some safety stuff. It would have instantly destroyed anything in it's path, and this was almost 20 years ago. What I find odd is how the steel beam in that video turns to dust after the building collapses, and the way it does so suggests such a weapon was used as it would penetrate all the matter instantly and then instantly vaporize it as shown in that video. But what do I know, I'm sure a certain someone will come on here to somehow prove otherwise. I don't know of any other way though to vaporize something in such a way, that was weird.

That is an interesting video. I am going to have to download the raw video file and save it for posterity. I think it is proof that supports Steven Jones' hypothesis and debunks everyone that says "What molten steel?".

The important question is why did the steel fall like that after surviving the initial collapse? That may be true, but it's honest speculation, IMO. And your question is also important.

If that steel beam was vaporized instantly into dust, it would hang in the air for a few moments before dispersing. I do wonder though why the steel beam fell after the initial collapse, unless the "exotic weaponry" blasted away more that a few times. I'm still thinking about that video today, and how things were instantly turned into dust because jet fuel certainly would not do that, very hot fires would not, even force from a bomb would have broken the steel beam and it would have gone flying away instead of just disintigrating on the spot. I'm not familiar with the source of that video, but I'd be curious to know if for instance that steel beam disintigrating has been shown in other videos.
