Gonzales cancels speech? Resignation coming?

Hotline On Call reports that Gonzales testimony press club speech on 4/16 has been cancelled. I hope it's true.

i work in the press club building. they've just replaced the calendar of upcoming events listing in the elevator with one saying gonzales 's speech has been cancelled. for what it's worth...

This could be great news as I will win a 6 pack at work from an evangelical who has never purchased alcohol before. (Also, great for our country and legal system)

Updated: As pointed out, this is not his testimony.

Gone-Zales' reply about serving at the pleasure of the President did sound more George, than Al.

You could be quite correct.

The hassle is that once resigned, Al-Baby is subject to all criminal laws for a long list of crimes. If Al cut a deal, Bush would be teaching Cheney to speak Spanish, enroute to South American parts unknown.

I've always thought that Bush couldn't push out Gonzales as Gonzales knew too much about Bush. Gonzales was with Bush through all his dirty dealing in Texas and he has the inside scoop on the wiretap and toture stuff.

But I think you are right, the hold might be mutual. Bush probably has a lot of dirt on Gonzales as well.

But it makes sense. This is the way crooks usually operate.
