Well it looks like I was right - as more people filtered Badeye he realized that his efforts to disrupt threads and turn discussions toward himself were increasingly doomed to failure.

He's now apparently left us and is back at Free Republic of all places.

And, he's attacking NoPardons, so it's probably worth starting a pool to see how long before he's banned and comes crawling back to us.

Do you mind if I ask what exactly transpired? Not that I expect any explanation...but I am certainly curious...

When he revealed your name (it wasn't the first one) and I removed it, I also had noticed he continued to post commentary to the BN.

I had removed his article posting rights for a time...and after a while he got very testy about it and I restored them...as he promised not to post commentary.

But a few weeks later...he resumed posting commentary to BN. I removed them....hoping he'd get the hint. Sometimes I deleted the thread entirely. Again...a strong hint.

This continued for a while. I kept an "eye" on him for a time to see if it was a one time aberration...or SOP. It became apparent that he had chosen to ignore the rules set out for us all.

I went back to some of his earlier posts and compared them to recent ones. There was a definate difference in tone, and content. More hostility and less information.

After a few weeks of mulling it over, I decided to pull the plug. I wanted to think it through for a long time...because he has been such a dominant presence on LP for such a long time. I don't have anything personal against him...he was just becoming unmanageable and disruptive. I also had concerns about him revealing other poster's personal info that he has access to because of the apparent change in his temperament.

Combined...all that led me to the conclusion that I had to close his account. Both for his own good, and for the good of the site. I hope he takes some time to reflect and renew himself. I'd like the OLD Badeye back.

Looks like his acidic attitude finally burned through, but it seems Goldi will open the door again. And then he'll be banned again a few months after that.

But *I* banned him first. What a useless waste of posting space he generates.

Badeye Banned from LP

This surprises me somewhat. I haven't paid much attention to that site for a long time, but BE was practically an institution over there. His agenda wasn't that far off from that of Goldi, and she lets some real wackos post endless silliness (byeltsin, domer).

OTOH, she's been rather arbitrary and capricious (which is why I left). Maybe he criticized AIPAC?

I think Badeye has just been caught out in a lie once too often. He has no credibility left at all. He's a shill that has the word "shill" tattooed across his forehead in big red letters.

A known shill is a real liability for an entity like the GOP who survives by having shills such as Fox News, NewsMax, NRO and the AM Radio crowd pump gullible morons like BeAChooser ad Aaron full of WMD and Islamofasicst shit. If these sort of guys see too many deliberate lies from the party, even they wise up.

I think Goldi got word from her money people to lose Badeye. Once people catch on to a shill, the shill is worthless and there are plenty more that can replace him. Expect another one to take up his nitch very soon.

Very rarely I would find something of value in a Badeye post. He was also generally courteous toward me, which he certainly wasn't toward some other folks. BE wasn't part of the reason I left El Pee. It was all Moldi Sox. I still have posting privileges there, I just left without being banned.

B E hasn't bothered me since a few months after I discovered LP. 'Ignore' is a great feature.

I'm not sure I understand why Goldi is so much into BN discipline though. One possible use is something similar to that of the speed limit on interstates - a tool to allow for arbitrary punishment, since practically everyone can be framed a law-breaker.

Are you aware of the history of LP? Neil McIver was the original moderator of LP. Most of us here posted a great deal on LP after leaving FR in disgust. Then when Neil left LP, leaving Goldi in charge, she let back in the disruptive trolls and shills he had wisely banned, and she began to moderate in a most unevenly way; to the point that she banned aristeides of all posters, twice (for an example).

Goldi always claimed that determining what is and is not BN qualified was fairly objective. I certainly don't agree, and didn't back in the LP days. She claimed to have some newspaper experience that made it easy for her. I remember agreeing to her insistance on the matter by letting her be the sole arbiter of what gets posted as BN. That way I never had to deal with it or those who argued the matter.

Bottom line: One man's news is another man's useless trivia (and a third man's spin).
