The purpose of this thread is to applaud our hosts for this place, and what we like about it. One of the things I do not like about modern USA culture is that people do not properly thank others. It's as if they believe they're giving up something to acknowledge that someone else did something nice. Running a site is a royal pain in the ass, and time consuming. It costs something to run, and someone has to pay that. So thank you to the owners, and here's what I like about Freedom4um: 1. No smilies!! I hate those things. I can barely stand to read DU because there are so many people who use them. Why not crayons? 2. No threads calling for government to FIX whatever today's most visible problem is. What are your favorite things about Freedom4um and how it is run?

It is as open as you could want, a discussion of the Jewish problem is not censored. Best site by that that I have found. And Chris and Zipporah are really great people, stunninglly beautiful, wise while being whitty and generous to a fault. As well as being susceptable to flattery.

You cannot talk about Zionism and those who have stolen the US government to effect their mideast plans. You cannot talk about the 9-11 fraud. Here I can, and that means a lot.

Law Enforcement Against Prohibition It took me a while to find where christine had gone when I was left all alone with a woman named palo (I love you!) verde at a place called http://freedomunderground.com (which is no longer there; I just checked). Generally wherever christine is you will find a place where freedom is not just given lip service, but is actually practiced. That's why I was fortunate to find her new site. I can't remember when the migration took place from FU (I still love that abbreviation) to here. So I thank christine and Zipporah and whomever else deserves credit for this place of unfettered free expression. I wonder whatever happened to palo verde. I'm sure she still loves us all. Certainly nothing wrong with that. "What the world needs now is love, sweet love ..."

What do I like about freedom4um? No badeye. No Kossack or DU PC censors. No posting limits (unless you are a known trash talking shill). No censorship (unless you go completely insane like Leveller did, or start out completely insane like BAC). No overriding political agenda. Great moderators.

I admire the freedom of expression, while reasonable restraints are also present. (No badeye, here!) If you want to be a turkey, you do so at your own peril. (Reminds me of the Territory days of Alaska.) [Speaking of turkeys, BAC is conspicuous by his absence, today. More disinformation school, I suspect. If Bush attacks Iran, we can be certain.]
In general: There is not enough gratitude for forum hosts these days across the board of political cyber thinkers. Nine times out of ten, we never know the extent of their background struggles are to make places like this possible. Specifically: What I like about Freedom4um is that it's always up and running - very stable. That in and of itself is a pain in the ass. Here, there are no SQL Errors or, a sappy apology posted for Maintenance Mode. The software here is robust, and professionally built. Money well spent. Also, Holocaust Memorial Week was not celebrated here. Yay!!!

Everything is fine SUPER. Is it possible to put more colors....... greyish early morning puts me mentally down ......... more colors = more happy. Still a very good site tho, keep it up Christine/Zippo.

He starts shit with people, then deletes their responses to his obnoxious remarks. He's a jackass.

My favorite reading hole is Lew rockwell's site, although I rather like Counterpunch and http://antiwar.com. But 4 is pretty much my posting home.

Smart, independent folks, many of whom know a shitload more about the world than I do. I come to get the big news and see what the smart asses here (and the not-so- smart asses here) have to say about it. Sometimes I even get into it with posters here, and I always learn something, even if it's arguing with the likes of Yertle. This site is a great quality of life enhancer. It help me maintain my equilibrium and my self respect as a huma-bean with all the horrible crap that is crashing down on us these days. Christine & Zipp are hip.

AND AIPAC discussion and USS Liberty discussion and discussion of lots and lots of other subjects that seem to be taboo elsewhere. And while I occasionally find the trashing of taboos offensive, it smells suspiciously like freedom, so I'm all for it, even if I wince occasionally.

I like that 99.9% of the people here seem to be looking for honest answers to some serious questions about our times, and engage in some excellent brainstorming and debate. I think this is the one true free speech friendly political forum on the net, with few shills and many different opinions from all across the political spectrum. Thanks to the lovely ladies that run this place! Did I mention that I like flirting with the girls here?

Great moderators. Ditto from me for those 2 points in particular. As well, 4um offers the opportunity to hear a variety of well-reasoned viewpoints which I may not have considered on my own. Some posters provide a bit more of a left lean than would be my natural inclination and I appreciate that input greatly. And 4um offers "characters" a place to post their opinions - 4um as the last refuge for characters? - don't laugh - I think that is an aspect of this 4um that speaks to freedom of speech here and what adds "color" to the discussions here - characters who may make me gnash my teeth in frustration at times, but nonetheless they are unique and opinionated and at times quite funny. They've been banned elsewhere but not here. And 4um also offers a place for meeting familiar soul mates due to an instant connection and though we're strangers it's nice to feel that on any given day or week one can easily relate to some comfy folks, no muss no fuss no hidden agendas, like putting on some old softened leather shoes after a long day on your feet. Ooops - I think I'm slipping into maudlin mode.
No overriding political agenda.

It is funny that former FR posters and former KOS and DU posters can come to the same site and wind up agreeing on a lot of stuff. I think there's a lot more common ground in this country than the people who profit from our divisiveness want me to think.

The web is dead. Been dead for a long time. I like seeing some of the old names and faces who saw what might have been, back in the late 90s, when there was still reason for optimism. I've also met a couple of new folks (granted on LP but they migrated here) who, should they stick with this format, and this format is dying a slow death of attrition thanks to Blogs, will be great posters down the line.

The main thing is that people with very different political views can talk rationally without being called commie or nazi. When someone goes beyond the pale, the posters tend to quash it, rather than calling for banning. The main thing is that here you can see beyond partisan politics and understand that people with very different views can agree on most things. And unite when there is a real threat to the country, as is the case with the Bush administration. I used to post mainly at Bartcop and later DU. I now mainly post here because I see thoughtful responses most of the time. Well, except for Flintlock. And no, Flintlock, I am not interested in your sister.
