The purpose of this thread is to applaud our hosts for this place, and what we like about it. One of the things I do not like about modern USA culture is that people do not properly thank others. It's as if they believe they're giving up something to acknowledge that someone else did something nice.

Running a site is a royal pain in the ass, and time consuming. It costs something to run, and someone has to pay that.

So thank you to the owners, and here's what I like about Freedom4um:

1. No smilies!! I hate those things. I can barely stand to read DU because there are so many people who use them. Why not crayons?

2. No threads calling for government to FIX whatever today's most visible problem is.

What are your favorite things about Freedom4um and how it is run?

It is as open as you could want, a discussion of the Jewish problem is not censored.

Best site by that that I have found.

And Chris and Zipporah are really great people, stunninglly beautiful, wise while being whitty and generous to a fault.

As well as being susceptable to flattery.

Tell me about it.

The Shout Down is in full effect at almost all message boards on line. You cannot talk about Zionism and those who have stolen the US government to effect their mideast plans. You cannot talk about the 9-11 fraud.

Here I can, and that means a lot.

It took me a while to find where christine had gone when I was left all alone with a woman named palo (I love you!) verde at a place called http://freedomunderground.com (which is no longer there; I just checked).

Generally wherever christine is you will find a place where freedom is not just given lip service, but is actually practiced. That's why I was fortunate to find her new site. I can't remember when the migration took place from FU (I still love that abbreviation) to here.

So I thank christine and Zipporah and whomever else deserves credit for this place of unfettered free expression.

I wonder whatever happened to palo verde. I'm sure she still loves us all. Certainly nothing wrong with that. "What the world needs now is love, sweet love ..."

In general: There is not enough gratitude for forum hosts these days across the board of political cyber thinkers. Nine times out of ten, we never know the extent of their background struggles are to make places like this possible.

Specifically: What I like about Freedom4um is that it's always up and running - very stable. That in and of itself is a pain in the ass. Here, there are no SQL Errors or, a sappy apology posted for Maintenance Mode. The software here is robust, and professionally built. Money well spent. Also, Holocaust Memorial Week was not celebrated here. Yay!!!

I don't know who badeye is, and never posted at KOS, but I found that place annoying when I tried to read it. Too many places have rigid pecking orders, and pecking orders produce a lot of peckerheads.

I did post at DU for a few months and got booted out. Boy, are they not liberal or libertarian minded! What a gaggle of honking geese! And the DU moderators are suck ass to the max. I've posted at both DU and Kos, although with a great deal more restraint than here. I like DU better than Kos, simply because of its structure, larger member activity and no one-a-day diary limitation. Mostly I just bop over there on occasion to read whassup and occasionally steal an article.

No overriding political agenda.

Great moderators.

Ditto from me for those 2 points in particular.

As well, 4um offers the opportunity to hear a variety of well-reasoned viewpoints which I may not have considered on my own. Some posters provide a bit more of a left lean than would be my natural inclination and I appreciate that input greatly.

And 4um offers "characters" a place to post their opinions - 4um as the last refuge for characters? - don't laugh - I think that is an aspect of this 4um that speaks to freedom of speech here and what adds "color" to the discussions here - characters who may make me gnash my teeth in frustration at times, but nonetheless they are unique and opinionated and at times quite funny. They've been banned elsewhere but not here.

And 4um also offers a place for meeting familiar soul mates due to an instant connection and though we're strangers it's nice to feel that on any given day or week one can easily relate to some comfy folks, no muss no fuss no hidden agendas, like putting on some old softened leather shoes after a long day on your feet.

Ooops - I think I'm slipping into maudlin mode.

I did a search and "palo verde" last posted there in May 2005. I think I must have found this site a year or so before then.

I am guilty of flirting also. I first thought christine was "The Artist Formerly Known as Snow Bunny" who used to be famous on FR. I apologize profusely for ever thinking that.

The web is dead. Been dead for a long time.

I like seeing some of the old names and faces who saw what might have been, back in the late 90s, when there was still reason for optimism. I've also met a couple of new folks (granted on LP but they migrated here) who, should they stick with this format, and this format is dying a slow death of attrition thanks to Blogs, will be great posters down the line.

The main thing is that people with very different political views can talk rationally without being called commie or nazi. When someone goes beyond the pale, the posters tend to quash it, rather than calling for banning.

The main thing is that here you can see beyond partisan politics and understand that people with very different views can agree on most things. And unite when there is a real threat to the country, as is the case with the Bush administration.

I used to post mainly at Bartcop and later DU. I now mainly post here because I see thoughtful responses most of the time. Well, except for Flintlock. And no, Flintlock, I am not interested in your sister.

BeAChooser: Then you shall die.
9/11 Truther: I command you, as King of the Britons, to stand aside!
BeAChooser: I move for no man.
9/11 Truther: So be it!
9/11 Truther and BeAChooser: Aaah!, hiyaah!, etc.
[9/11 Truther chops the BeAChooser's left arm off]
9/11 Truther: Now stand aside, worthy adversary.
BeAChooser: 'Tis but a scratch.
9/11 Truther: A scratch? Your arm's off!
BeAChooser: No, it isn't.

BeAChooser: I've had worse.

BeAChooser: Oh, had enough, eh?
9/11 Truther: Look, you stupid bastard. You've got no arms left.
BeAChooser: Yes, I have.
9/11 Truther: Look!

I agree that the 'no smileys' is a big plus.

Another plus is the 'no breaking news' section. Sites like LP have people arguing a lot about what is and what is not 'breaking news' instead of having some more interesting discussions.

I also like that there is not explicit prohibition of 'racism' or 'anti-semitism'. People are what they are and they think what they think. If a site is to tolerate those who pray that 'we' nuke various 'Mooslum' countries then there's nothing wrong with a little racism or anti-semitism. I'm a confessed anti-Bulgarian and I'd feel embarrassed to see that no one cares about my Bulgarian bashing while those who warn us about various Jews conspiracies are supressed.

Another thing that I like is the 'ignore' feature. I'm glad it's there even though the level of discussion here is civilized enough not to make me ignore anyone.

So, I too thank the owner for keeping this good site alive.

Oh, there is one thing that I don't like. It is allowing the members to include large, psychedelic graphics as part of their signature. This can be very distracting and extremely annoying when someone makes 15 posts on a thread and drops these redundant nonsense to no one's benefit or pleasure.

There was someone at FR, I believe, who was including the head of a feline with huge canines in all of his posts. Even though his graphics were not animated, it was quite pathetic and gratuitous.

Also, adding a 10-line SIG to a 2-word post... not good.

I hate signatures. Is there a way to opt out of seeing them? It's not the content, it's the repetition.

But to each his own. I have high tolerance for those kind of annoyances. It's the prohibitions on free thought and expression that trouble me at most message boards. I'm not crazy about puking smilies, either. At DU they have a bunch of people that use that smilie to express their displeasure. I call them cyber bulimics.

That was "Sabertooth." He was actually very good on the immigration issue, in that he stood up tenaciously and articulately against the "party line" that JimRob wanted enforced there for so long: "open borders" in all but name. He was repeatedly and gratuitously banned at FR, until he finally came over to LP.

As has baffled me before with other posters, he changed stripes, as it were, and became an acerbic defender of Israel against all the "Stormtroopers" (i.e., people who question even timidly any of Israel's policies or actions) supposedly there. I tuned him out after that---I can have my pick of Israel Firsters anywhere on the 'net.

They don't ID themselves on that site of sketchy double talk. A site like that and apologists for the administration and the shadow government people who control it were all expectable in light of how successful people have e been in bringing the truth of the false flag operation to light.

If they had been innocent, hey would not have destroyed so much of the evidence, now would they? For this pedestrian taunt of yours' to have teeth to it, there would have had to be preservation and analysis of he evidence that was melted don and destroyed.

But that would have been dangerous, yes? The powers that b just couldn't allow that to happen for obvious reasons.

So you think the evil folks at that website created that graphic and just attributed it to Steven Jones? Well your suspicions are unfounded. Here is a URL to a Steven Jones' distortion and lie filled presentation (from his own website) containing that misleading presentation slide:

Take a look at page 26.

And lest you think Jones just didn't have a good enough quality image of that debris to know better, I direct your attention to another of his reports "Why Indeed Did the WTC Building Collapse?" ... Put it this way. A few bucks will get you a roll of quarters in change. More, if you really push it.

One of the things I do not like about modern USA culture is that people do not properly thank others.

This is all too true.

Also people like to focus on the negative and give little if any credit to the positive. I see this attitude in regards to a lot of things.

Except when it comes to BeAChooser [okey don't hit me!]

That is what I like very much, this forum has more personality than any of the others I have seen, with all sorts of colorful characters.

Years ago when I lurked on FR it was that way, and I got a kick out of the various personalities. I finally joined, but Jim Rob lowered the hatchet and got rid of all the interesting types until the only people left were dull replicas of one another who mostly chanted slogans and gushed over their Mr. President. Talk about a drastic change from it's beginnings.

There are also very bright posters here, sometimes I feel dumb in comparison, and wonder how so many of them can know so much about a wide variety of topics.

And then of course there is critter who is very cute and funny.

There are some questionable oddballs here as there are everywhere, but the overall quality of posters here is very good.

Wish Burkeman would come back though.

ROTFLOL! No, SKYDRIFTER, I'm still around. In fact, I just got done thoroughly demolishing a claim by Kamala about FDS and did you notice that no one has even attempted a rational response to my destruction of nolu_chan's and roughrider's posts yesterday regarding the WTC?

Actually, some of us have to work once in a while.

"This was a back of the envelope calculation done AFTER the design was complete."

It is a White Paper from 1964. Groundbreaking occurred two years later in 1966.

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Design_and_construction_of_the_World_Trade_Center "On September 20, 1962, the Port Authority announced the selection of Minoru Yamasaki as lead architect, and Emery Roth & Sons as associate architects.[26] Yamasaki came up with the idea of twin towers. To meet the Port Authority's requirement to build 10 million square feet of office space, the towers would each be 110-stories tall. Yamasaki remarked that the "obvious alternative, a group of several large buildings, would have looked like a housing project".[27] Yamasaki's design for the World Trade Center was unveiled to the public on January 18, 1964, with an eight-foot model.[27]

So there is NO POSSIBLE WAY that any White Paper from 1964 affected the DESIGN.

I'm taking your silence as indication you are part of that Swift boat the Truth movement site. It is on that does zero in the debunk department, but the goal of it and people like you is not to debunk, you just want to make the evidence of the false flag operations a bit more fuzzy and make it harder for people to see the truth.

So, what role do you play in running that site? Cat got your tongue, chicken boy?

What's to like about F4um...

The software and site maintenance appear to be top-notch. Neil did an excellent job on the software.

Moderators only seem to moderate as necessary. Little or no censorship. Diverse opinions are permitted to clash in the arena of ideas.

No superposter "hall monitors" who steer conversations or work under multiple handles to manufacture cause for banning someone they have trouble debating. FR got infested with that crap.

Does it matter as long as the photo is authentic ... and it obviously is.

Where is the forensic identification and analysis?

Oh, I forgot, Bush made sure there were none, and Jones had to do it or have it done himself.

Now, why is that?

Your poo pooing of evidence is a double edged sword, you see.

Who has more cred, the scientist looking for truth or the politician trying to hide it?

So far you've called everyone a liar except those who posted armed agents and unlawfully removed the evidence to China, Malaysia etc., for recycling.

Now why is that?
